Update: I previously wrote a review a few years ago with high praise for Dr. Bartlett and that hasn’t changed except I wish he had been more helpful and done a revision to fix the tip of my nose that looks big as a result of scar tissue. I was going in for years to get steroid injections, but it’s such a temporary fix that doesn’t last.
This update is just to advocate for yourself and get the outcome you want when spending thousands of dollars on a cosmetic procedure you have to look at everyday. Had I known my tip could have lots of scar tissue and swelling after the fact I would’ve asked for a bit more cartilage to be removed to offset that.
The last time I went in for a steroid injection he gave me a rough quote for what a revision would cost which was almost as much as what I originally paid. I have a friend who went to a different doctor and had the same issue as me, but was offered a free revision to fix the bulbous look of her tip. Hearing that is a tough hit..

Dr. J. Andrew Bartlett's response
Im glad you were overall happy with the initial result . It sounds as though you have already had the maximal amount of cartilage removed if you have required repeated steroid injections to minimize scar tissue that fills the void after surgery. There is no no guarantee that further cartilage removal would help in this circumstance as there is a limit to how much the skin can redrape if a lot of cartilage has already been removed. It nevertheless could be considered as long as this is understood before further surgery. Most surgeons do charge for revisional surgery of the tip unless it is something minor in the office which is usually not the case with tip revision . If you contact our office , I would be happy to review your file and discuss further .

I had rhinoplasty as my nose had been broken over a year and Dr. Bartlett reconstructed it exactly as it was before. He did a fantastic job and I had almost no bruising or pain. Sure recommend everyone. Everyone is complimenting me.

Dr Bartlett is amazing, his knowledge , surgery procedures, bedside manner is first class. I had Septoplasty, and am very pleased with the results. I’ve heard a few comments from my friends who’ve been through the same surgery with different Drs, and are surprised how fast I’m healing and back to work in a week, their experience was quite negative. I’m very grateful to Dr Bartlett for the compassion , care and fantastic work he takes in his patients. Thankyou so much Dr Bartlett. For getting me to breath better. And not to forget Noreen, very sweet and caring person.

I originally went to Doctor Bartlett to enquire about septoplasty as my deviated septum was preventing me from breathing properly. He confirmed that I was an ideal candidate for the surgery and that he would be able to improve my airway. After the initial consultation I started looking into the potential of combining septoplasty with rhinoplasty as the cosmetic profile of my nose was something that always bothered me. When I spoke with Dr. Bartlett about going a step further and adding the rhinoplasty to the procedure he was very honest with me about it. He even said that my nose matched my face very well but if the cosmetic factor was something I wanted to do then he would be able to create an even better airway for me. I'm three and a half months post up now and I'm absolutely thrilled with my results. The airway Dr. Bartlett created through my nose has been life changing for me. I finally wake up in the morning feeling well rested. I'm also extremely satisfied with the cosmetic changes to my entire nose. I feel as if this is the nose that was always meant for my face. Dr. Bartlett is not only an incredible surgeon but he's an artist in my opinion. I know this is a huge decision to make and that's why I felt compelled to write a review. I make my living with my face so this was something I needed to go perfectly... and it absolutely did!
Dr. Bartlett and his staff (Noreen) exceeded my very high expectations! I highly recommend this surgeon and his practice.

I had a fantastic experience with Dr. Bartlett with my nose surgery. He was very patient and took his time to answer all my questions. This was my first time being put under general anesthetic and was quite nervous, but Dr. Bartlett took the time to reassure me and I felt like I was in good hands. His staff are very responsive, and got me into see him on short notice when I had a (very minor) post surgery issue.

Dr. Bartlett and his patient coordinator Noreen were absolutely amazing to deal with. They were so accommodating, friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I could truly sense that they genuinely cared about me as a patient and I would highly recommend this office! My surgery and recovery has shown major changes to my health already and it was truly a blessing to get this operation done by Dr. Bartlett.

Was referred by my GP for hearing issues. From what I encountered and saw in the waiting room I would say his specialty lies more in the nose and throat parts. Staff person who administered hearing test was adequate, seemed to be going through motions of the job. Hearing loss was determined and given my young adult age, I was surprised and asked what possible reasons there could be out of the usual (that weren’t factors - loud music, job, noise exposure, relatives with hearing loss). He shrugged his shoulders and told me to go get hearing aids. End of session. It might help future consults to explain that you are merely there to diagnose (I found this out later). Referring consults to resources/agencies specializing in hearing loss would help, rather than a vague wave of where a hearing aid clinic is. A smidge of understanding of the emotional impacts of hearing loss would help as well.

Dr. J. Andrew Bartlett's response
You're correct in that I see primarily nasal patients currently so this may have been some time ago. Your referral would have been to diagnose/ exclude medically or surgically correctible losses ie a variety of outer, middle or inner ear diseases, eustachian tube dysfunction, nerve tumors etc. and in your case if all excluded the next step is hearing aids so I hope that was of some value. Hearing aid dealers are not qualified to diagnose other than age related high frequency loss.

Just like many others who seek reviews to base their very difficult decision of who to select for a surgeon when undergoing a complex surgery like rhinoplasty, I have been curious what my post surgery review would be and hoped I would be able to leave no less than 5 stars! That was a high expectation, this I knew, but when spending a chunk of savings on something I’ve wanted for most of my life, I had hoped it would be possible and alas… the day has come! 5 stars to Dr. Andrew Bartlett and the administration/reception but only because there isn’t an option for 6 or more!! From start to finish, upon my first phone call to the office, my consultation, my intake day at the surgery centre to my post surgery cast removal, I have been beyond thrilled with my experience! I was initially going to see another very popular surgeon here in Vancouver but after having 2 consults with that surgeon and not feeling 100% sure about it, I was recommended Dr Andrew Bartlett from a lady who happened to have seen his work time and time again. I myself had never heard of him and had heard of the surgeon I had 2 consults with extensively so I wasn’t sure what to do but I thought I should go with the ladies opinion because she worked in the medical field and had seen a lot of Dr Bartlett’s work behind the scenes. I am so glad I listened to her! From the moment I met him I could feel his genuine care and attention to detail that I had been seeking on previous consultations with other surgeons but had yet to experience. We agreed to go with a less is more approach as I did not want to change my front view as much as I wanted to straighten my deviated septum and remove the dorsal hump and basically make my nose a more symmetrical and feminine version of what it already was. He took a good amount of time during the consultation to show me two computerized results and printed them out for me. I felt that when he was assessing the inside and outside of my nose he actually addressed areas and concerns that other surgeons were not even mentioning, another surgeon had even told me they couldn’t guarantee my nose would be straight after. Dr Bartlett put me at ease by telling me my expectations were reasonable and that he was confident that he could straighten it, this is what finalized my decision! The day of the surgery, I was greeted by the friendliest nurses and support staff I could have imagined and Dr Bartlett came in again to tell me a little bit about what he would be doing during my open surgery and to review my expectations once more. I was then brought into the surgery room and although I was extremely scared about what I would experience upon waking up after surgery, I was confident I was in the right hands and drifted off to sleep under anesthesia. When I woke up the staff was taking good care of me and never left my side, Dr Bartlett had arranged my bf to pick up my medication and to come pick me up, the nurses let me relax for a good hour or more and I was totally taken care of until I was picked up. The next day dr Bartlett emailed me to see how I was doing and then checked on me once more before my cast removal day which was quick and painless and though I was extremely nervous, when I looked in the mirror I was beyond pleased to still see myself but just a better version, I still recognized myself but I looked better and everything we talked about was exactly what he delivered! There were no surprises and even though I’m still swollen I am so happy with my results, it’s only been a week since surgery and I have had almost no pain, like 1/10 on the pain scale the entire time, I had slight bruising around the eyes which is to be expected but nothing at all what I’ve seen on other people. It’s almost unbelievable, my bf and my mom both say my nose looks perfect now and I have had so much fun looking at myself from different angles and imagining what it will look like in the months to come. I wish everyone could have an experience like mine, it took me years to decide and I’m thrilled to say I made the best choice!
