The entire staff is phenomenal! Boone & Adam, as well as Practice Manager, Tony give you personal, attentive treatment, with great customer (patient) service skills!

I was very upset when I found out Dr. Barrus is eventually going to phase out of this office; but, Lilly (PA) has the personable touch that Dr. Barrus always had with me! He must have trained her. You will not be disappointed!

I also love the remodel you've done on the office! Into the 21st Century, finally!

I've been coming here for over a decade. Dr. Barrus and his Physican Assistant, Lilly are excellent, thoughtful providers who try to get to the root cause of an ailment instead of just covering the symptoms with medications. Never had a long wait to get in, and the office staff is very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend them.

Very attentive & thorough throughout my visit. Listened to my concerns / comments & provided a logical approach to help me achieve my health goals. No rush and made it obvious that I was a priority. The office staff was extremely friendly & efficient - they have a policy that every patient is to be greeted and in an exam room within 15 minutes at arrival. Great experience-they more than exceeded my expectations!

Normally I hate Physician offices, but North Texas Optimum Health is an absolute exception. They really listen and then work hard to do everything in their power to help patients. Lilly, Dr. Barrus' Physician Assistant, had a wonderful attitude and truly took the time to address my concerns, as if it were her only priority. I've been a patient for quite a while now, have always waited a reasonable amount of time to be seen and I have never felt as if I were being rushed out of the room, which is incredibly refreshing. All in all I've always left their office feeling better than I did when I came in and I would highly recommend his practice to anyone.

We've been to see Dr. Barrus many times & we are finding a new doctor. He is more interested in having us come in for multiple visits than solving health issues. When I asked him about it directly his response verbatim ," We need to make a living & the way we do that is by having you come in for a visit." He was gruff & seems to have obvious health issues of his own. His hands kept shaking & he couldn't operate the equipment in his office, saying his tech quit. The front office staff is nice but tells us the office drama. Waste of time every time.

Worst doctor I have ever been to. I'm sorry I ever wasted my time on this outdated doctor. All of his equipment is old and outdated. His office staff is beyond rude. They never have my insurance right. Today I drove 45 minutes in excruciating pain to get my back adjusted. I left my wallet at work and mind you I've never had to pay a copay. First they couldn't tell me that I owe money before I drove to the office. I get there and all of a sudden I owe $125 because they've been using the wrong insurance company. Then the doctor's weird daughter Aubrey tells me if I give the correct info I can see the dr and don't need to pay anything. I'm sitting there waiting to be seen for 45 minutes. Finally I ask and they tell me that I can't be seen because I still need to pay $35 copay. I just said I left my wallet. I have always paid my bills and been to this dr for two years. What happened to billing a patient? I'm so done with this terrible doctor.

Dr Barrus is a good family doctor. A bit forgetful from visit to visit, you might have to remind him of your history, but otherwise he seems to know his stuff. Now regarding the office staff, Joyce (Dr. Barrus assistant) is simply rude, unprofessional and not at all willing to help you out. She picks up the phone sporadically, frequently hangs up on calling patient and often seems to be on a power trip. Good luck with her!!

I keep trying to call to get a hold of SOMEONE who can help send over a referral. The phone keeps ringing and ringing. Is there not an office manager on duty to help answer or at least send calls to a voice mail?

Dr. Barrus and his staff are among the best I have ever encountered. He is thorough and knowledgable, and takes the time to listen. He looks for the root of the problem, and does not just treat symptoms. If the patient doesn't understand him, he takes the time to explain what is going on and the possibilities of why, then discusses what needs to be done to address the situation, be it more tests or a referral to a specialist. My family and I have been seeing Dr. Barrus and his staff for 13 years, and will stick with him until he retires. I have never put this much trust in a physician before, but his down to earth, and thorough, practice has earned my respect and continued business.

I loved this doctor. I was a first time patient desperate because my back went out and I was in agony. He got me in quickly, with-in minutes of arriving, even though I was half an hour early, they got me right into a room so I could lie down! He was actually in to see me 5 minutes early. I am so used to waiting for hours at other offices even when I'm on time or early, this was a welcome relief. He explained everything before and as he did it clearly and why he was doing it. I felt listened to, comfortable and will make him my permanent general doctor from here on out. My husband now wants to use him as well. His office is large and well designed and increases that sense of comfort, and I am VERY nervous about doctors. Talk about a welcome change!
