Failure to provide courtesy calls as a remunder for patient appointment. Medication levels not monitored through bloodwork. Unnecessary rudeness by professional on a few occassions.

I brought my son to the Dakes because he has been suffering from depression and anxiety and we had already determined these issues were psychosomatic. One lesson learned is that when the therapist and psychiatrist are so closely associated, one doesn't receive independent evaluations. Dr. Dake had some good points to offer, but he jumped to conclusions about my son and was abusive to him under the guise of "tough love." Dr. Dake had the attitude of infallibility based on his (maybe too) many years of practice. Apparently he has helped other people, but I would not recommend him. He was totally out of line with us.

I started going to Dr. Dake a month ago. He is one of the most friendly, strait forward Dr. I have ever been to. He takes him time with his patients and he is 100% true to himself. If you don't like to be told what is going on or don't want to hear what you need to do then don't go here. I on the other hand love to be treated as a adult, I like whomever I am around to be themselves. I don't like someone tip toe around me. I would recommend him to everyone. He is a caring and honest great doctor. The office is also nice because they have several therapy dogs. It makes me more relaxed.

I had my first apt today 3/17/15. I wasn't in the waiting room 5 minutes until I was called back. Dr. Dake is very easy to talk to & I plan on a long a beneficial experience. Great staff and environment.

I am currently seeing Dr Dake & he has been treating me for ADD. I was diagnosed with ADD when I was 13 yrs old & have tried just about all the different medications & seen my fair share of doctors, good & bad, so trust me when I say I found my doctor visits with Dr Dake very informative, comfortable, & he always comes across as a good listener & very compassionate. I am happy & grateful to Dr Dake & his staff for all they have done for me. I am quite happy with Dr Dake & will be continuing to see him as long as possible.

I was so sad to see the horrible things that people have said about Dr. Dake and his office staff. I've been seeing Dr. Dake for 9 years and I drive almost 100 miles a month round trip for my monthly visits which I actually look forward to and enjoy! Dr. Dake diagnosed me from the get go as ADD, this was after almost every psychiatrist had diagnosed me as BiPolar and put me on every anti depressant known which turned me in to a zombie and caused me to gain weight! Dr. Dake is an older gentleman who reminds me of my grandfather! He does fool around, he listens to questions, asks questions, and really cares! He always asks about my family and animals. His office staff is so helpful and kind and I love the animals that he has in his office to help his patience to be calm. I see him once a month due to the type of medication that I take and I honestly do look forward to my trip down there. He and his staff have been more than life savers, they're like family!

I saw Dr. Dake for a year or so in the early part of the last decade. I found him to be rude, conceited and arrogant. He reminds me of the legendary English occultist Aleister Crowley.I don't know why but he does! I would not recommend this man. I have since found a much more caring compassionate Psychiatrist with whom I am well pleased.

I just wanted to clear up something about Dr. Dake's front office staff. There are apparently three different women who work the front desk. I had read lots of reviews prior to going in, and though many of them hold true for the doctor, the woman I work with, named Laurie, was very helpful, pleasant, reliable and engaging. She must not be confused with the others who work there as well. Dr. Dake is a kind man but diagnosed me within minutes of meeting me as Bi-polar which is the last thing I am and even went on to mention that my baby daughter, who was there with me, would also be ADHD most likely (she is 22 months). I didn't dislike anything about the dr. but think he feels himself to be "IN THE KNOW" simply because he has done it for so very long. I just want to let all know that LAURIE is not the difficult one mentioned in many reviews.

Dr. Dake has been treating me for bipolar for over 4 years. In the beginning, I wanted to change Drs, but there were no others in the area. Thank goodness I didn't change. He has helped me more than I could have hoped for. But, you need to know right up front that he is not going to coddle you or be your best friend. He is not the kind of doctor that adds label after label or gives too many meds. He believes in shooting straight and keeping us from being a burden on our families and society. If he had made me feel that I could get away with using my diagnosis as an excuse to act out, I may have done just that. He doesn't want us living on disability and he wants us to function normally in all situations. I have now taken my teen daughter to him, because I want the same for her. You have to remember that he is NOT a therapist. He prescribes, then does medication checks periodically. If they work, he sends you on, if not he adjusts. As for Tammy, I love her & all the doggies.
