He knew what i had right away and was patient and answered all my questions. I could tell he really cared by how thorough he was. Very professional and great bed-side manners too.

This doctor should not be permitted to practice medicine. My wife recently had an extended hospitalization for an abscess that was caused by them in the first place. During the hospitalization the abscess became even more infected and due to a lack of IV access she required central lines to be placed in her neck. Each line that was placed became infected and she continued to develop infections in her blood. Unable to explain why the infections continued to occur, or why they would not respond to antibiotics that we told him they would not respond to, Dr. Liu began to directly accuse my wife of causing her own infections instead of trying to find the actual cause. He insisted she was doing something to herself to cause or worsen the infections despite everyone, including other doctors on her case, telling him otherwise. When my wife and I continued to question his medical judgement, he ordered a psych consult and a one to one watch. Even though my wife was cleared by psych, and she had someone now watching her at all times (including while she used the bathroom) he persisted in his accusations. When my wife again voiced her displeasure at his accusations and treatment (both medical and of her), he told her that "he could make things much worse for her and could lock her up where she would never be allowed to see her children, so she needs to just learn to shut her mouth". Luckily another doctor from within his group saw my wife during a period of time that he was not on call at the hospital. This new doctor disagreed with his diagnosis and treatment and set out a new plan. Lo and behold within just a few days of this new doctor seeing my wife she had recovered enough to be discharged and come home.

This man has no regard for his patients whatsoever, and is to arrogant and self important to admit when he is wrong or cannot figure something out, so instead he shifts the blame to his patient. My wife and I are now speaking to an attorney as well as the state medical board. The best advice I can give anyone is if Dr. Liu walks into your hospital room, insist on a new doctor or request a transfer to another facility.

I'm not looking for bedside manner and coddling. He is by-the-book/no-nonsense and that works for me. Dr Liu is always on time yet manages to answer all of my questions thoroughly to my satisfaction. I even make him laugh once or twice while I'm in his office!

I had a bad infection on my knee last year and saw my primary doctor. He kept giving wrong diagnosis and sent me home with pills. Finally, I went to see Dr. Liu and he knew what it was right away and referred me to the correct specialist. I was in so much pain and discomfort, thank god I saw Dr. Liu.

I have had the misfortune of having this doctor assigned to me during a recent hospital stay. My experience, witnessed by my family, will make certain that I never go to this hospital ever again, even in an emergency situation. I was spoken to in a cold, hurried, and rude manner, my simple, nervous questions were shut down and interrupted, and I felt very disrespected and demeaned as a person, and especially as a woman of color. God help us if Dr. Liu represents the new generation of physicians!
