Dr. Diamond literally saved my life by diagnosing/treating my Hemicrania Continua headaches that had plagued me for eight years and baffled all other doctors. She is phenomenal.

Reading about people who are upset about her not wanting to use opiates don't understand the purpose of this clinic. I chose this clinic for that exact reason- they don't throw pain meds at you. I'm part of a couple migraine support groups and we all agree that this approach is 1000% more effective long term. Ive had so many doctors try and give me viccodin or percocet which works for a week and then starts to make me feel withdrawal symptoms and such. I have met some of her patients who were dissatisfied and usually it has to do with them asking for medication and not following up. You don't work for as long as she does with as much success because you're needlessly opposed to treatment methods. She is caring, compassionate, and understanding. I also think it's funny that the negative reviews on here all have very similar speech patterns and accusations...just going to comment that if you do not like someones approach to medicine, instead of trashing their institution and trying to ruin their livelihood, you could provide constructive criticism and then move on. Maybe take your business somewhere that they share your philosophy.

Maybe the worse service of any doctor I have ever seen. Her office staff are terrible! BEWARE! They will charge you for everything and likely help you little. After being a patient for almost 10 years, I have found much better service elsewhere.

Dr. Diamond is not concerned about her patients or their pain/suffering. She's CONSTANTLY on vacation . When I was under her care in the hospital for 12 days I NEVER once saw her. She never came to visit me at all. She sent 3 of her associates. Her PA Christine leaves extremely rude and condescending messages on my voice mail when I call 3 days before I'm out of my 12 medications Dr. Diamond has me on. Per office policy that is the protocol I'm to follow. If you call and want to speak to an actual live person you are charged over 12 dollars and that's for speaking to anyone at the clinic. I've had a couple of severe reactions to the medications Dr. Diamond put me on. Caused me to hace several rounds of kidney stones and I wound up in the ER. The ER doctor tried numerous times to contact Dr. Diamond and she NEVER returned the ER physicians attempts to get in touch with her. I tried calling her office after I was released from the ER which gave me a minut amount of pain medication ti deal with the pain from kidney stones. Only then did Christine her assistant call to yell at me for going to the ER and urologist to get relief and some firm of medical attention for ny kidney stones. Christine saw it fit to read me the riot act bc I had taken pain medication. If you've ever experienced kidney stones you KNOW they're worse than giving birth! So I'm undecided if Dr. Diamond takes the Hippocratic oath of first do no harm seriously?

Dr. Diamond and her father are inveterate Opiaphobes. My migraines, I found out after 20 years of MIStreatment ONLY respond to opiate pain medications. 65 meds over 20 years have proved this. The Diamonds "don't believe" in actually TREATING PAIN. They would prefer to give you medications which may damage your heart, destroy your GI trac, cause abortion, and maybe kill you, rather than just treat the pain. I suffered for 2 years at this Clinic, and after many years found a wonderful Neurologist who actually CARES about his patients. I never suffered as badly from my migraines as I did when I was under the care of the Diamonds. Ask any other doctor in the Chicago area, they all have the same opinion of these docs, who for some reason the press thinks are Gods. If you want to suffer and be given dangerous meds, see the Diamonds, if you want HELP for your pain, see someone else. "Biofeedback?" QUACKERY!!!!

Dr. Merle Diamond changed not only my life, but the lives of family and friends who have also lived through almost 20 years of daily migraines, cluster headaches and ice pick headaches. I'm am literally stunned that I finally found a doctor who listened, really listened, and then gave me an in-patient treatment that was so comprehensive, warm, and nurturing. I loved the bio-feedback especially, because it gave me back at least some measure of control - and the power of that control, that cessation of panic as my headaches built, has allowed me to go almost 4 months without even one opiate pain reliever. Since 1990, I haven't gone even one week without some of the strongest narcotic pain meds available. I would walk on broken glass for this marvelous woman, and this extraordinary clinic. Even if other clinics were unsuccessful - please, please give the Diamond Headache Clinic a try - it's in a whole different league than any other clinic (five!) I've attended.
