My experience with Dr. K. Gurr is one that has saved my life after a traumatic Spinal Cord Injury. Dr. Gurr performed grpund breaking proceedures and was able to restore function to my lower limbs. I arrived in Emerg in complete paralysis from my MVA injuries.
As an RN i understood fly the severity of my injuries. Dr. Gurr and his team were attentive and went beyond all my expectations to help me. After months/ years of therapy I was able to walk again post Spinal Fusion.
Iwas 28 at the time of my injury and just turned 60. My mobility is the most important gift that this doctor gave me. Thank you Dr. Gurr and to all the team. To those looking for his care, you will be in the best of hands.

Ms. Georgina V.

I had a disk herniate suddenly while walking in 2017. while I was already seeing a chiropractor and a massage therapist for pain, m y doctor suggested Physio therapy. after the 3rd appointment that i had trouble even lying down they sent my Dr. a note suggesting a M R I. This reviled the herniation at L4-L5. Almost 6 months later and numerous therapy sessions and medication, (avoid Lyrica if you can ) I requested a consult with Dr. Gurr whom i discovered was one of the first doctors to do this procedure in Canada. We waited for over 9 months for a reply . My doctor had his receptionist call to find out why. The answer that she got was, Since I don't live in the London area and I don't have a tumour he is not interested. Would it have taken that much time to make a 2min phone call.So after 5 epidermal cortisone injections, 3 injections around the nerve outside of the spinal cord without much success. 5 years of Massage treatments, physiotherapy, acupuncture and chiropractic care and i am still in daily pain. too bad there wasn't a negative rating available.

Very arrogant. Doesn't like to be asked questions. Very poor listening comprehension skills. If he decides surgery is not indicated, then he doesn't seem at all interested or knowledgeable about alternative options for pain management. I was shocked by how disespectful and condescending he was towards me.

I saw Dr. Gurr yesterday because of my back problems. He was very knowledgeable about my problems. I am not bad enough for surgery but we have devised a plan for some epidural injections to see if that helps first. He is very friendly and easy to talk to. He also answered all the questions I asked and didn't talk to me like I was stupid. I would recommend him to anyone with spine issues.

I was 24 years old in 2004 just a young man trying to make a living, I was working at a chemical plant in Amherstburg ont.. I was overworked and blamed for derailing a train...I had a slip and fall and luckily not killed underneath the train...I had my first two operations by dr. Shamisa in Windsor ont...2005 and 07...disc shavings, but I knew something was wrong still , I cried daily even with strong narcotics oxy 80s and fentanyl 37.5 mg...and still the leg pain was intense, I knew I needed to go to another city, somewhere
that the technology is better.. I chose London ont...dr gurr..in 2009 I had pins/rods/cage put in..it was so much better I wasn't crying know more, but instead of 10/10 pain level it was brought down to roughly 5..6 ish...but I still needed pain meds, dr gurr warned me about opioids with pain in back and leg, he said not to go on opioids maybe cause I was a kid and he was trying to look out for me...he said to go on a nerve pain meds lyrica..I did not and I went to morphine and Dilaudid...slow release morphine sulphates 60s x 2daily .and 5 Dilaudid 4mgs a day...which was fine! but I lost my my dr during the time of 5/6 years back when drs weren't giving much opioids out....I had to do something...so my new family dr advised me to go on methadone....that was my only choice or 3 diladas or two morphine I knew that wouldn't be
enough... he told me if go on methadone I can just go up and up to 180mgs 18 MLS...was fine, but now my health is deteriorating...my heart and BP and minute blood in both holes...I got scared and just quit methadone after coming down to 60 MG's...I know my days are numbered now, over 23 years of narcotics and Street drugs, crack meth u name it....now I quit all drugs but am suffering so much.......the point I'm trying to make is...I wish I would have listened to dr gurr.............he's a fantastic orthopedic surgeon....I just don't know how long titanium lasts in the body...or if I got ASD. ..is it my age 42...or the drugs. That are taking its toll ...because my whole body burns like I'm on fire...how long does titanium last? Upto 20 years I read.....it's been 13......

Have struggled with back and leg pain. Presented myself as someone who had suffered for over 30 years and on OxyContin for most of it. Had previous 12 MRI’s showing only slight l5-s1 issues. He looked at my MRI DISC and said he could do nothing? 5 minutes tops? No further investigations. A year past now on long term disability and I see a neurologist in Barrie. After genetic test diagnosed with “symmetrical spastic Paraparesis “. Have since got of OxyContin and on Gabapentin….big difference. Have since lost bladder functions and looking to find stenosis issues. But I know what it is. Shameful Kevin!
