Dr. Muchnick - answering in a condescending way ... possibly - but, my wife and I mentioned several times, that his answers made us feel like ... well of course a child gets sick or gets a fever and we should have known that. As new parents we were scared and he put us at ease and gave us a sense that everything our beautiful child was experiencing was normal. He gave us confidence to not worry. He and his staff have been wonderful and I have recommended him to many friends over the years. My daughters are now 13 and 10.
As others have mentioned - it was awesome to see him go out of his way to come by the hospital after their births.
One thing to learn - do not allow your 3 yr old to see her younger sister get a shot for the first time ... We should have left her at home or had a nurse take her into the lobby, etc.

You know doctors are not perfect, and neither are any one of us, but Dr. Muchnick is apart of our family. He makes my daughter laugh. She's been to every doctor in his office now that his hours are less, and she prefers Dr. Muchnick. She said, "he's nice and he doesn't have an annoying voice." When I met Dr. Muchnick, my daughter was and infant, and whenever she had any sickness, he was aggressive with the treatment. Others doctors say things like, 'let's wait and see what develops.' Who wants to wait around for their sick infant to get worse? Not me, and not Dr. Muchnick! He's given us home remedies, (approved by my grandmother), that work! And he even gave me his cell, so I could follow up with him about my daughters condition. Best of all, he keeps up with current medical research, and he's very technologically savvy for his age! Dr. Muchnick is definitely a keeper...I'll be inviting him over for dinner before he retires.

I have not experienced ANY of the negative things others have written. We have 2 babies with him 4 and 2. He never told me to leave my other kid home. He never yelled or was rude. He has ASKSED my other kid to be quiet while talking to me or mhy wife or the sick one. I would too. He needs some quiet to do his job. I then usually jump in and quiet my other kid. He has always returned calls right away and answered pages. He called Little Co of Mary higher ups to get my sone out of a 10 hour emergency wait and up to the perdiatircs ward for an IV to the head b/c they could get a vein. He stayed LATE to see my son who had developed a stutter and a twitch. And referred him to a specialist and an MRI. Every thing hes ever told us to do was right. The staff was alwasy good too.

Dr. Muchnick is a very good, experienced doctor. Sure he's old school, rough around the edges. If you want sugar coating and placating, he's not for you. But he knows his stuff, and he's always right on. He's told my kids to be quiet, too, because they interrupted him, but he keeps to the point which means less waiting for other patients! He has always answered all of my questions. He is NOT mean to children, nor is he rough in my experience. If you want a children's entertainer, hire a clown. If you want a great doctor, see Dr. Muchnick!

I had Dr. Muchnick with my first son for just a couple months after he was born before I knew I had to switch and find a different pediatrician right away. Because this was my first child, I had a lot of questions and safe to say, didn't know much. So I remember the times when I would ask him a questions, he always seemed to answer me in a condescending way. I felt stupid to even ask questions about the safety and concern of my own child. I do not recommend him at all.

I love Dr. Muchnick, I've been taking my children to him since my oldest was 2 and he is in his twenties now. He is very informative and has helped me on very difficult issues. I highly recommend Dr. Muchnick to anyone.

HOW CAN A MAN WHO IS A DOCTOR FOR CHILDREN NOT BE ABLE TO TOLERATE THEM WHEN THEY ARE IN HIS OFFICE? He is unable to talk to you if you have your other children in the room. He tells the children to shut-up and be quiet. He is unable to see back to back children of the same family when they seem to have the same illness and you made the appointments back to back for that reason. He tells you not to bring your other children with you to the appointments only bring the sick child to be seen. He has no patience and he is rude. Passes gas and doesn't say excuse me. He makes you feel stupid for asking questions about your child or takes your money and says keep doing what your already doing at home. He has a really bad bed-side manner. If it wheren't for the fact that we are already established with him we would leave his practice.

Didn’t provide typical 1 or 3 year well check tests and was unable to answer questions about ongoing problems regarding milk intolerance, said he would call me back and never did. Also promised to call with dentist referrals and never did. He was unable to multi-task or rather answer questions about my girls health while looking at their charts. I left their well checks with more questions then I went in with.

We don't have a good experience. He is very rough with the children, my daughter was terrified already in the waiting room. He has no patience and cannot deal with a child. Examining the ears was the worst experience ever. Together with the nurse they were laying down on her, squeezing her body while she was hysterically screaming. Nurse held her nose so she woud open her mouth to look down her throat. Doctor misdiagnosed her with very severe ear infection. Please stay away from this doctor, your children don't deserve such treatment.

Dr. Muchnick is an amazing doctor! Sometimes you have to wait to be seen by him, but it is always worth the wait. When it is your turn, he never rushes you and makes sure that all of your questions are answered. He is extremely knowledgeable, and thorough in his examinations. He is also excellent at returning phone calls. I am so glad that we found him!
