I have seen Gaines for years. He is very attentive and I like his manner. I got mad recently because my yearly was canceled, but came to realize it was not his office's error, but the new call center- which was explained to me. If you don't know (i didn't..) everything in the medical world is going to call centers. If you want to reach a doctor you have to go through a portal and leave a message. I was really mad at his office- but it is not them! He personally called me and fit me in- the call center wanted to schedule me months out. They stink- and the idea of call centers does too, but it is the way things are going- just be aware of it! Internist docs have it pretty rough- they are pushed to see maximum patients per day (19 at least!)spending minimum time with each! They also aren't specialists, so a patient can throw problems at them from a myriad of angles. So if he seems distracted or not all into YOU AND ALL YOUR PROBLEMS, know there is a reason for this! I didn't give a 5 star for punctuality because he does take more time than the system he has to work in allows- which puts him behind. But I think that is a good thing. He doesn't know about every little thing- but who does? He works at it though and will find out an answer for you or get you into see a doc that can. The guy who had the rash... go to a dermatologist- Gaines probably wrote you a referral...

I am new to the area an tried another doctor but researched an found Dr Gaines. He's very knowledgeable an has took great care of me. Listens to your issues and is very concerned. I would highly recommend him!!!!

What happened? He used to be a good doctor but now he doesn't listen or take me seriously anymore, so I'm not going back, I saw him for quite a while and he was really good years ago. I thought I liked him but he really does not listen and is always rushed and seems uncomofortable with patients now. What happened?? The nurses do call you back in a timely manner and pharmacy response time is good.

I've always had pretty good experiences with this doctor. He's nice and professional. He seemed uncomfortable in treating anxiety and stress and my only complaint about this is I prefer to have one doctor handle everything so I did not want a referral out to a psychiatrist. I very much prefer to see only a primary care physician and an OB. I don't like to be referred to specialists for things that really don't require it so I wish he was more comfortable in at least trying to handle anxiety before referring me out. He's a good doctor and I appreciate that he is careful and thoughtful. I have a very positive opinion of him overall. He is a good doctor and he listens very well.

I seem to have buyer’s remorse every time I visit. I don't feel he takes me seriously as a person or is even comfortable with me. On my last visit he left the room as we awaited results. However, he never came back into the room. A nurse came in read my results in 2 seconds flat and rushed me to checkout. I fear that if there is ever something seriously wrong with me …breaks my heart… so I am now looking for a new primary doctor.

New to the area and looking for a PCP I was very happy to have found Doctor Gaines. He is very thorough and listens well. I have had no issues with him or his office.

When I lived here Dr. Gaines was my primary care physician and he was always so knowledgable and straightforward. I had the utmost trust in him because he always treated whatever it was I went in for effectively and was very nice. It is rare to find doctors as good as him, as well as nice. Most importantly, he's knowledgable and does a good job.

I'm a Persian Gulf Vet (1990-91) and I have the rash to prove it. Sadly, Dr Gaines wouldn't look at it when I asked him about it. He seemed scared to look at the rash and never helped with it. I'm with the VA now if that means much.....

Dr. Gaines is wonderful. very knowlesgable and down to earth. He takes time to sit and talk to you and really listens. The entire staff goes above and beyond. I am in the medical field, so my expectation are very high and he easily meets them every visit.
