Very unsatisfied with the "treatment" my daughter has received over her time- I was referred to Dr. Mader nearing the end of my pregnancy for prenatal. My family doctor was retiring, so Dr. Mader took my daughter on once she was born, to follow her well baby check ups.
She never went through a list of questions to see what milestones my daughter was meeting- she was at a low percentile for her weight for the first few months so we went often for weight checks - but that was basically it - then at her 2, month, 4 month etc. basically gave her, her needles,- checked her weight, length, head circumference and sent us on our way.
Anytime I had questions, she never made me feel I was being heard. By the time my daughter was 12 months - she still wasn't crawling. I raised concern to Dr. Mader and she acted like it wasn't a big deal, and that she may go right to walking, that she could be late- basically acted like it wasn't a big deal- never asked any other questions about her development, NEVER checked her reflexes once! a few weeks later, my daughter was full on crawling, then came her cruising, so my husband and I thought she was on her way - after months of being in the same place, she still wasn't walking, and would get frustrated sometimes when we put her up to her toy walkers.
By the time she was 18 months my husband and I were concerned she was still not walking, we wrote down concerns we had, with her not walking being at the top of the list. we wanted to be prepared when we went to her visit to see Dr. Mader.
first thing Dr. Mader asked, so shes walking, and talking? we said no, shes not walking- and she basically blew it off again as it was no big deal?.. this was concerning to me. she said she would give a req, for x-rays, to rule out hip dysplasia, but did not stand her up, look at her legs, or ankles...
Enough was enough, and I had to take matters into my own hands - come to find out after bringing my daughter to a physio, then a long wait for a referral to iwk my daughter has bilateral ankle foot orthosis, she will be required to wear a brace for sometime.. now my daughter is still quite young, but Dr. Mader completly dropped the ball on this. If she wasn't sure what could have been wrong she should have sent a referral off somewhere. I basically had to do that myself.
shes now on a waiting list at the NS rehab to finally get fitted for a brace, and to see what one she might need. now if Dr Mader caught this earlier my daughter could already be walking with her brace, but because this doctor either is A. so incompetent that she doesn't know what questions to ask, ie: sending a referral to physio, sending us to a pediatrician- or B, is so blatantly ignorant and doesn't care about the well-being of children she should NOT be a physician.
My daughter received better care from a physiotherapist on her first visit then she did in over 18 months in being in this doctors care.
I will never return to her, because my family would receive better care from a walk-in physician then from her.

if you want the best care for your family seek another physician!

Difficulty getting a hold of office to make an apt, but otherwise all around great service. Love the care I've received there for 4 years now. Knowledgable and kind.

I have not had a good experience with Dr Mader. First off, the receptionist in her office is very curt every time I call. It is very trying for me as a patient with GAD to talk to someone like that over the phone.

It seems all the good reviews are from expecting mothers, so maybe her lack of knowledge in other areas is due to that bias. It seems as though she doesn't know anything about me, besides being my family doctor for my entire life.

If she weren't my family doctor I would only go to walk-in clinics but I have to have a GP so I continue to see her. Would not recommend for anyone who isn't pregnant.

Dr. Mader followed us through my wife's pregnancy. She was very knowledgable and very calm which helped my wife a lot. The stuff was great, except for that one hiccup with an appointment not showing up in their system. They took us in anyways. Appointment were on time with a few being 15 minutes late which is completely acceptable, considering our family doctor can make us wait up to an hour and a half. Dr. Mader later on delivered our baby, and she did a great job.

Dr. Mader has been my doctor for six yrs or so.I have to say she is the best doctor that i could ever ask for!! I have a few serious diseases that she takes care of me regularly for, she is amazing when it comes to serious things that need to be tested asap. For example a test that should have taken months to receive she made sure i got in within 5 days and called me the next day with results. She also delivered four of my children. Two of which ended up in the nicu which she stayed taking care checking in on both me and my children through there stay. When my son was admitted in the hospital and it wasnt her as a doctor it was through the er for admittance she checked in on us to check on him. Shes amazing. Highly recommended!!

Dr. Mader is not my regular doctor but was extremely helpful when I sustained a concussion January of last year. She was careful to diagnose and maintained consistent visits to check on my progress. I had ignored my concussion symptoms initially, therefore, my recovery took about three months. She carefully explained the situation and state of my brain at different periods of the recovery stage and was always incredibly apt at describing what I was experiencing. I truly appreciate her helpfulness. I am seeing her now for complications from an appendectomy and, as usual, I am able to get in within a week. Her staff are very quick, polite and efficient. A true reprieve from my former doctor in Moncton.

Dr. Mader is very knowledgeable and reliable. She delivered both of my children and is now my family doctor. She identified a serious chronic condition early and made sure I was appropriately referred to the proper specilty. She is on top of things and reads all report., Even if care is being provides by a specialist, she remains on top of things making sure there is continuity of care.

Dr. Mader is very much to the point, but she is very knowledgeable and willing to listen to you as long as it takes. Her staff is wonderful and my appointments have always been pretty much on time! Great doctor.

Dr.Mader is a good doctor. She is very efficient, a much needed attribute in our health care system. The majority of the time, she has been most helpful in dealing with my health problems.
