I had to undergo a bilateral mastectomy two weeks ago due to breast cancer, and Dr. Hayakawa did my immediate DIEP reconstruction. Dr Hayakawa is very professional, but he is also incredibly compassionate and empathetic. He has excellent bedside manner and is a very skilled surgeon. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone undergoing breast reconstruction. The nurse who works with him (Laura) is also absolutely amazing. She has excellent bedside manner, is great at her job, and she has shown a lot of kindness and compassion towards me throughout this process, which has been very reassuring. These are the kind of people you want looking after you when you are going through something difficult. I have been very impressed with the care I have received from Dr. Hayakawa and his team, and it gives me a sense of relief to have him and Laura following me during my recovery period.

Dr. Hayakawa did surgery on my upper arm and when I showed him I had the same Squamous cell growth on my forearm he didn’t hesitate to remove at the same time. Thank you so very much.

Dr. Hayakawa is an incredible surgeon who has impeccable bed side manor. I saw Dr. H for a breast reduction and the results are better than I could have ever imagined. He heard what I was looking for, and he took my inquiries and questions seriously. Dr. H is an artist in his field and I couldn't have had a better surgeon.

As it wont let me update. Showed up for my appointment. Was told to get an xray. Came back up. Waited for a while for the people on the counter to stop gossiping. So i could tell them i am back from xray. Had to wait a long time to hear about my results. After 50 minutes Dr hayakawa was too busy. Another doc came in told me he is busy so she is helping. After a few questions she told me i have to wait to wait longer for the hayakawa. Told her my complaints of last visit. She told me "well he is the surgeon." After an hour wait. On my 3rd visit Dr hayakawa finally introduced himself. was told they will now have to do surgery. Which is what i wanted in the first place.

Great surgeon, wrong surgery. I had breast reconstruction using a 500 ml synthetic insert. At the age of 71, I had a small stage one cancer on the outer edge of my right breast, near the axilla. I wanted breast saving surgery with a lumpectomy and radiation. Since I also wanted this cancer out before it spread to the lymph nodes, I was not in a good position to negotiate. I recovered easily from the physical aspects of the surgery, but emotionally I am still a wreck.
