I've been seeing this Dr for years only because I don't want to have to drive to Largo for my yearly exam and every year I have to brace myself for his terrible "bedside" manner. He's so arrogant, condescending and controlling - it's ridiculous. It's time to find someone else - I've taken his BS for the last time.

I just had cataract surgery by Dr Rothberg 2 months ago and I could not be more pleased. My vision is excellent, the care I received after and before surgery by Dr Rothberg and his staff was wonderful. I thought I was having a problem one day and they had me come in immediately. Turns out I was not putting the drops in my eye correctly. Dr Rothberg took the time to demonstrate how to insert the drops and my problem cleared. Everyone in his office was so nice.

one month post cataract surgery, I had a serious problem with my vision in that eye. Dr. Rothberg examined me and said he had no idea what was wrong and said he couldn't do anything else for me and basically shoved me out the door. I made an appointment with another doctor who immediately diagnosed my problem as a dislocated lens that Rothberg had implanted. That doctor had to perform a lengthy surgery to repair the damage. A lengthy surgical procedure was mandatory to improve my vision. Because of Rothberg's incompetence, negligence and misdiagnosis, I have cancelled all future appointments with him and would never recommend him to anyone.

Dr Rothberg and staff were wonderful. I had an urgent problem and they saw me very quickly, diagnosed my condition and started treatment. I had called other offices nearby and they would not see me until a few days later.

During a yearly visit, I asked the nurse tech to measure the distance between my eyes. (I wanted to order some special motorcycle sunglasses on-line and needed this measurement. She did so happily. The Dr came in later and erased the measurement and gave some lame excuse as to why. One year later i called and asked for a copy of my prescription. The staff said OK they would fax it, but called back later and told me that the Dr. refused to give his permission for me to have my own prescription. I think David is a good doctor, but is a jerk as a person.
