Dr. Sonkin is extremely straightforward and no nonsense. I love him because he cares about ME instead of pharm reps and how HE can make a buck. His focus is medicine and helping patients. If you are looking for a doctor who is fake and sweet in your face and tells you what you want to hear, look elsewhere. If you want a dr. who genuinely cares about YOU and tell you the truth, he's the best doctor in Tampa. He reminds me of the small town doctors back in the day how they used to be and you won't find that anywhere anymore. He's the best dr. I have ever had and I will NEVER change him until he retires. P.S. I'm in my 30s so i'm not old if that's what you were thinking.

Dr. Sonkin is a straight forward doctor that tells it like it is. He doesn't prescribe medicine that is not necessary. He is patient and knowledgeable. More like an old-time family physician. We do not have insurance so his rates are reasonable.

Used to be a Surgeon in former Soviet Union, which is a plus for PCP.He is not one of those doctors that likes to prescribe drugs just to get you out of the office.I am in my late 20s and only go to see him when I am sick or for annual physical.My wife needed to get a second opinion from Dr. Sonkin about a minor dermatological surgery (multiple mole removal) that a dermatologist wanted to perform. Dr. Sonkin laughed and said that there is no need for surgeries to remove any of the moles unless she notices changes in shape and/or size of the moles. He advised to take a picture and check a couple times a year to see any change. His wife is a receptionist and does a great job working with the patients.They have an older lady who will take your blood in the office for $5 at the same time you see the doctor, which saves you a trip to a Lab. They only accept Cash and Checks and have not computerized their patient information files, which can cost quite a bit.

Dr. Sonkin is excellent and he does not rush but takes time. His staff is also very helpful.
