I had this doctor for a number of years, do not trust him or his judgement. Had a back injury, seen him many times with no response or treatment to any therapy other than muscle relaxers, went to Pan am clinic from advice of a Physiotherapist and in a couple of visits and a MRI found out I had 2 Herniated discs, bladder infection, and chronic high blood pressure. Very lazy, know it all do nothing doctor.

I had this doctor as a kid but luckily got out of town and away from him. He does not believe that people can have more than one ailment at once. He is creepy and I never felt comfortable in his office. He has misdiagnosed me and my family members several times. The only time he ever helped me was when I was in emergency for an ulcer - the nurses gave me a "pink lady" to stop the pain and it didn't work - they said I was lieing. He saw me and said "What are you doing here?" I said "I think I have an ulcer" He said "here, take this" and wrote me a prescription. Granted, he got paid to do this, but at least it helped. That's the only time he ever helped me. I had pneumonia a lot as a child too, and he always just dismissed it as bronchitis for at least a week before sending me for X-Rays.

I have the misfortune of having Dr. Chapnick as a family doctor since I was very young. He is cold, arrogant, unintelligent, misogynistic, and does not listen to patients. He will rush you and only let you talk about one ailment at an appointment even if you haven't seen him for two years. Disrespectful and awful with patients young and old. I developed a hatred of hospitals in no small part because of this man. I wouldn't trust him with a sick gerbil.

Discharged my mother-in-law from hospital in the morning even though she had great difficulty in breathing. By early evening the same day she was dead. Turned out she had an embolism.

many trips msde to see him, seemed unconcerned about pains in chest. must make an appt for each ailment as he only deals with what you are there for at the time.

Very nice and friendly Doctor but prescribed too high a dose of Diltiazam for my high blood pressure when he knew there was a problem with my EKG. This high a dose should not have been prescribed according to the specialist at St.Boniface Hospital where I ended up needing a pacemaker. When I mention him about this he told me there were many patients with my kind of EKG and he would still prescribe this medication. I do believe that if he knew more about treating BP I would have not ended up in the emergency at St. Boniface Hospital. This happened in 2002 but just got to know this website. Still have high BP and is now being treated in Winnipeg.

We have had this Dr. for 10 yrs and find him very good and caring. My husband has problems and feels confident in this Dr. and has been referred qickly when needed. Had to go in to emergency this fall and this Dr. suspected a serious problem and referred us to Wpg . It appears that he was right and the swiftness was life saving We have never had to wait for appointments long and he is polite, listens and discusses with us. Would recommend him but there isn't enough time in the day for the patient load.

Dr. Chapnick has been our family doctor for several years. He is knowledgeable and caring. I feel confident that my family is well looked after. Throughout the years I have felt that he has gone above and beyond the call of duty. Once when my child was young we presented to the Gimli Hospital ER at which time my child was sent to Winniprg Children's Hospital. We spent 5 long days there and when we returned home there was a message from Dr. Chapnick wanting to see how my daughter and the family was doing. Excellant care in my mind.
