I had chrones for 23 years, going to numerous doctors and none in Vancouver could figure it out, until I moved to Saltspring and went to see Dr. Karent Berg. It only took her a month. She also was able to discover a few other medical conditions I had. Furthermore, Karen actually spends time with the patient explaining their condition, as well as shows empathy for the person. I usually see her right on time, or about 5-10 minuutes late when is not bad at all. Highly recommended.

We have had Karen as a doctor for 10 years. She is very knowledgeable and helpful. However, you have to ask sometimes about her diagnosis and she will explain gladly. She is a bit short in her replies but overall I rate her a good doctor.

I will be looking for a new Dr. The wait times are bad, I had to drive to her office and wait for one half hour to have a question answered that she could have done over the phone.She went away on holidays and didn't inform me so when I showed up at her office for test results there was a different Dr who wrote me a perscription which was unhelpful as he was not my PCP and had no idea what was going on. It seems neither does she. She does not review your chart before she comes in her office and looks at you blankly because she honestly has no idea who you are or what is wrong with you which is pretty pittiful in such a small town. I have had to chase her down after an appointment to have her write a perscription because she suggested it but forgot to write it. She really doesn't seem to give a defined answer about anything and rushes off before I really even know I still have unanswered questions.

This was our family dr for over 13 years. Missed my pregnancy at 3 months after telling me I was being "paranoid" and that all my symptoms were due to stress. I was booked for a surgery that she told me to "look up on the internet" (which would have killed the baby). Poor bedside manner also. Myself and all other members of my family have switched dr's.

My DR. for 18 yrs. Recently diagnosed with prostate cancer Dr. Berg was very helpful with referals & information on the subject. My yearly physicals were handled very professionally. I would have no hesitation in recommending her to anyone.

This doctor nearly ordered an unneccessary spinal tap on me. She is far from knowledgeable and terrible bedside manner. I would not go to her again ever.

I personally Like this doctor , she has always been straight forward and up front with me and my kids .
