I had been with Dr. Doermer for a long time until he retired (in 2014/2015?), and he is the best doctor I have ever had! He was very personable and very knowledgeable, and even correctly diagnosed at least one problem that had baffled previous doctors. Although Dr. Doermer tended to work very quickly, he was always thorough in his doings, genuinely caring about me, and gave me suitable referrals to specialists (and MRI's) when needed. He was always a careful listener to my accurate descriptions of phenomena, and we worked well together. (Yes, for best results, a doctor and patient have to work together.) Dr. Doermer's office also accommodated me the same day on several extremely urgent occasions.

I have mixed feelings about the receptionists (who have been very stable there over the years). While they are very efficient and doing everything right (perfect scheduling, records, etc.), they are a bit cold sometimes. And when Dr. Doermer retired (in 2014/2015?), the receptionists totally botched the matter of notifying me (they never did!), instead producing a nonsense explanation in May 2016 when I discovered the retirement. They claimed that I already had a new G.P. by the time of the retirement, but quoted the name of a St. Boniface ER doctor who I had never known or seen until April/May 2016 during an emergency! And obviously, the info that was then sent to Dr. Doermer's office would bear the name of the ER doctors involved!

The on-site blood clinic that this medical office has had for many years (and which is a separate financial entity from the medical office) is very convenient, but should be replaced. Their staff are rude, and not very careful when poking for and drawing blood, often causing considerable pain.

This so called Dr. misdiagnosed the simplest of things, likes to talk over you and will not listen to the concerns of the paitent. Wants to discharge you even though there are still medical issues that have to be treated or looked into. Tests that should have been done were brushed aside.

Doesn't do well with informed patients, can't diagnose gout unless there a gross signs. over medicated me for a year on indomethacin which wreakes havoc with ones gut. Should have his prescription pad surgically removed from his hand. Has a pill for everything........no wonder he can drive such nice cars and retire early drug kickbacks are lucritive.

I have been seeing Dr. D for 20 yrs now. My husband has been with him for 30 yrs. He has always taken the time to listen to our problems and has always been able to Hx it. If he is unsure about something, he has vast connecitons with specialist to refer us too.... but lately I find he has started to rush through visits, and act like he is disinterested, but maybe he is just tired at the end of the day...maybe he is just looking forward to retiring in a few years...I will miss him when he is finished. His staff could learn a few more manners....they are cold and not friendly at all. They do however...know who you are when you walk through the door. Just saying... :)
