Dr Mehmi is a great Doctor. She has been my family doctor for over 17years and my only hesitation of going to see her is the dreadful wait times. I could have a appointment booked at 1pm and still wouldn't get to see till atleast 3pm. Other then the wait times, there is no issues with Dr Mehmi's practice. She is extremely knowledgable and does a thorough job. I wish something can be done with the timings so that she can see people as they are scheduled.

You do have to wait a long time to see her and she does come in late but overall she has been my doctor for 25 years. I do go to her for major things but for minor things I go to a walk-in clinic. My husband made Dr. Mehmi his doctor because his doctor rushed and did not listen to all health concerns. Most doctors are concerned about seeing the most number of patients to make as much money as possible. She is hilarious and unlike other doctors, she does listen to more than 1 ailment/health issue. She does give you her 100% attention and does not rush out from patient to patient like other doctors. When I was hospitalized, she did call to ensure I was getting good care. She is also open to alternative medicine as long as it helps her patients. I know other doctors that are so stuck with traditional medicine methods that their patients are not their primary concern.

I have been with her for the past 18 yrs through two pregnancies as well. What I find now is that the wait time is getting unbearable. No question, she is an excellent doctor but come on! You don't make someone wait 3 hrs to see you for a blood test result. My husband scheduled an appointment and got in her office at 4:00 pm and was seen at 7 pm. And she has a sign in the office saying if you find it difficult to wait, you are welcome to go to the nearest walk in clinic. I mean who does that! Staff is ok. I do agree sometimes you feel you are in India and not Canada!!!!!

I am with Dr. Mehmi for 21 years, She is knowledgeable and kind and helpful. Her staff is accommodating. Yes recently wait time has been increased. But this is the case every where even in govt, offices or even on the phones. I will still go to Dr. Mehmi.

One of the worst doctors around. She was my doctor for over 15 years, and the last straw was her diagnosis of equating a sore throat to pushing your toothbrush too far down your throat when brushing. Her diagnoses are always rushed and never thoroughly examined. Before you even explain your symptoms she is writing up a prescription, and if you ask questions she quickly adds a bunch of referral documents. Her appointment time slots are useless, since she is never on time and she has the tendency to share privileged health information from one family member to another. CPSO should be doing regular check ups on their members to see that they are up-holding an acceptable level of our already broken health care system.

-the following experiences are mine as well as my family's- Most of the staff, save for one receptionist haven't been effective in running the office. Mehmi often shows up late. When we had a 10am appointment, she arrived an hour and a half late, took three patients, then at 12 she left for lunch and she usually doesn't return till well after 2. She recommends extremely invasive procedures as a first resort (going in for hyperhydrosis, she suggested surgery; with a hairline fracture on a tailbone, she wanted to remove the tailbone)Other occasions too have confirmed she has a "if it is bothering you, just take it out" philosophy. She has extremely poor patient doctor confidentiality. She discussed family illnesses to me and vice versa (we are all legal adults). She even once started discussing my file with me while in the waiting room. She allows her family members in the rooms without your consent. Additionally, she made very judgmental remarks about having a non-East Asian boyfriend.

Receptionist is not pleasant. Dr. Mehmi tends to spend more time with patients of her background and brushes off others. People need to realize that we are in Canada and you need to speak english. It is not respectful to others in the waiting room when the receptionist is participating in a conversation with patients of a different language. Show some respect and Dr. Mehmi treat all your patients the same.

I'd like to go on the record that she is very helpful and knowledgable; has been there for my family...BUT, the culture of the office has eroded. 20 years ago I still felt fairly comfortable in the waiting room, but now, I feel like I am in some kind of East Indian Village. Her receptionist and her clients yell back and forth to each other in their own language. No regards for regular Canadians! You forget that you are actually still in Canada! The wait time is terrible. The office is depressing and she likes to discuss one's business with one other's family memebers. I absolutely dread that environment and prefer the walk-in clinic. However, if you can put all those anoying aspects aside, and have at least a couple of hours to kill, and don't get easily frustrated you're in GREAT hands!

All things considered, all doctors are overloaded with patients that all require nothing less than 100% attention per case, from a common cold to a major illness. She's doing her best and its best that Canada fixes up the system and its happening so best wishes to Dr. Mehmi, she's been my FD for 20 years since 89! Take care
