Dr.Mare was my doctor for several years in Pine Falls MB. When he moved to Winnipeg I did not hesistate for a second to remain his patient. I have to drive 1 3/4h but it's worth it. He is very professional and cares about a person's problems. He is very thorough. He stays on top of all tests and physicals. The first thing he does is ask how you are doing and listens when you tell him the reason for the visit. I feel very fortunate to have him as my Doctor. He is truly one of the great ones. His staff is very professional and try very hard to accommodate you for your next appointment.

I was okay with Dr. Mare until he argued with me about when I was able to hear my baby's heartbeat. I know when it was, I was there, he said that it was impossible. Right from then on, I had no use for him. I had another appt scheduled with him, I cancelled it, waiting for my appt with my OB. Other than that mistake, he seemed knowledgable.

Dr. Mare is the best doctor I have ever taken my parents too. We are so fortunate having him as my parents' doctor. He is thorough and always takes the time to talk to you and explain things very thoroughly. He treats my both parents who are in their 80's, with respect and in a very caring manner. He doesn't hesitate to get a second opinion if he is not sure about something. Great doctor!

Dr. Mare is the best GP I have ever been too. He is thorough and always takes the time to talk to you and explain things very thoroughly. He treats my father as well who is in his 80's and had many medical challenges. He treats my father with respect and in a very caring manner. He follows up with phonecalls at my parents home when he feels something needs to be discussed. Great doctor!

Dr. Mare is probably the best family doctor I've seen ever. He is very knowledgeable and obviously makes the effort to stay current in his field. His manner is thorough but informal, very easy to talk to. I have never felt rushed, although I know that his caseload is heavy and I try not to waste his time. His casual manner shouldn't lead anyone to underestimate him, though -- he definitely sees through any attempt to distract him from non-compliant lifestyle habits (i.e. need to lose weight, stop smoking, whatever)! One previous reviewer mentioned that he should never retire -- I'd second that request although I know it's impossible!

My family has been going to Dr. Mare for a few years, and when we leave Winnipeg, we need to bring him with us! I have had very negative experiences in the health field in Winnipeg, so finding Dr. Mare has truly been a blessing. He has a warm, funny personality, he is thorough and very knowledgeable, and relates well to his patients on a personal level. Another great aspect of being Dr. Mare's patient is that he doesn't overbook, so one can get into see him within a couple of days. He has kindly filled out form after form for both myself and my husband, having to deal with specialists, MPI, and WCB. He is well aware of the failings of our health care system, and does his best not only to protect his patients, but to avoid the bureaucracy one so often faces in Manitoba. My children adore him as he always makes them feel comfortable and keeps them laughing throughout their appointments. I cannot recommend Dr. Mare (and his lovely staff) highly enough. He is a gift to Winnipeg.

My husband and I have had excellent care from Dr. Mare. We have total confidence in him. We find him welcoming, reassuring, attentive, understanding and totally dedicated to our wellbeing. We feel extremely fortunate to be in his care. We moved from another Province 5 yrs. ago, were worried about finding a Dr., knowing of the shortage. We definitely lucked out! My husband had triple by-pass surgery last year, following a thorough and extensive number of tests to determine exactly what the problem was.

Dr Mare has been my doctor for a number of years now and has always been very helpful, very caring and very pleasant. He takes time to listen to my concerns and doesn't rush me out the door. I am very happy to have him as my family doctor.
