I moved from Ohio to Taos, NM at the age of 59 and needed to find a new doctor. I searched the few options available to me in Taos and was horrified by the care there! I decided to look in nearby Santa Fe. Having been in good health all my 59 years, I suddenly developed an array of not complicated issues, but issues that were scary to me. Dr. Barkey was very knowledgeable, helpful, compassionate and always available. Her follow through and thoroughness is exemplary!

We moved from Boston, MA where we had excellent health care and Dr. Barkey appears to be as competent, attentive and knowledgeable as my previous physician who I had for 15 year. She listens well and while suggesting treatments, she considers my preferences and my ability to follow through on her advise. As I don't like medication, she is able to suggest a sensible diet which might work. My husband, who is OK with medication, also finds her excellent

Very good doctor with an equally good CNP. Barkey is an excellent diagnostician and that is why I go to her. No nonsense, good sense of humor, spends time, spot on referrals when needed. Highly recommended.

Doesn't listen, empathy isn't a word in her vocabulary. I'd need to be dying to see her again but then again, I rather go to the E.R.
