This Dr has the worst bedside manner. I was basically dismissed immediately as if he had already formed his opinion. I was told the eye dr, the previous endocrinologist and the radiologist all were wrong and told me not to listen to any of them. I got no answers and no offer of help. I will never go to him or refer him to anyone. I left in tears and very frustrated. He should not even be a doctor what a shame

Waited months to get in to see him in regards to a Cushing syndrome diagnosis. He was very rude, did not listen to anything I had to say. He already made up his mind I do not have Cushings and all my tests and MRI are wrong. He basically said I was making every symptom I have up. I left his office in tears and will not be going back!!!

I believe the positive comments on here are fakes. This is the meanest and most arrogant doctor I have ever met. I waited 3 months for an appointment, and he was in and out of the room in about 10 minutes stating that "we are very busy today." I actually had to sass back and tell him that I am his patient at this moment and if they overbooked patients it's not my problem. Didn't matter, he said he has other patients to see and that my appointment is done. When checking out, I told them to not dare even send me a bill, because I didn't anything close to a real appointment (was told months ahead of time I would have a full hour with the doctor). Even the desk staff secretly told me what a jerk he is. Ann Arbor has some great Endo docs, but this one should be deported.

Dr. Barkan is a kind, thorough and extremely knowledgable physician. He helped me to finally get diagnosed and treated for a problem that took me from a doctor to a doctor for months. He made me feel at ease and calmed down my and my wife's fears. The process took some time because I needed some additional tests done, but Dr. Barkan explained that the diagnosis had to be made on the basis of my complaints and history, tests and sometimes MRI/CT scans. He listened to me very carefully, examined me very thoroughly, went over the previous tests and discussed the possible diagnosis in detail. He ordered more needed tests and when we came back prescribed the medicines. I can not tell you how much better I feel. We are going back soon to see Dr. Barkan for a possible medication dose adjustment. Since I met Dr. Barkan I recommended him to several people. I and my wife can not be happier with a physician. Thank so much, Dr. Barkan!

Dr. Barkan was extremely arrogant. I had been diagnosed with Cushings by my endo in Wisconsin and had to move. My endo sent me to U of M to receive a transphernodial surgery. With only meeting me for 20 minutes, he said he was "90% sure" I did not have Cushing's. He ordered another long series of tests which would have taken at least another 2 months. Remember, I was not going to a diagnosis, but for meeting with the surgeon to receive a surgery. I too left the office in tears. I called my WI endo and he sent me to a surgeon in Chicago. I had the surgery and am now Cushing's free for almost a year :)

The worst experience I have ever had with a doctor! He was so arrogant and I could not even ask a question, he would interrupt me. He belittled me to the point that I left his office in tears. Just awful!

The Best!! He personally calls with results, he never makes you feel rushed, takes his time and listens. Answers your questions in terms you can understand and makes you feel comfortable. Highly recommended.
