Insisted on getting a urine test even though I only needed a sick note for work for a cold. Told me the note would be free if I did the test which I thought was kind of strange. Other than that very nice. Front desk was pleasant and appointment was very punctual

By far the best doctor in the city. I came to him with a testicular lump and he did a thorough history and physical and immediately knew what it was. He ordered an ultrasound right away and when we reviewed the results and he repeated his exam he knew exactly who to refer me to. I really don’t get all these negative reviews

I was Dr. Nyhof's patient from around 1983 to 1993 when I moved outside Canada. I recently searched his name to see if he was still practicing and was happy to see he was but shocked by some of the comments people made on this site.
First of all, some complained about him giving physical examinations. Dr. Nyhof is an old school doctor and that is what they do. They actually check you over to see if there is anything that's not right and do blood work based on their findings. Doctors with this type of training can actually detect and prevent problems before they get worse. Doctors now a days don't check you over. They wait until a problem gets so bad it shows up in your blood work and then you have to take meds the rest of your life. They don't take the time to physically look you over and catch things before they worsen. He does.
Some people complained about him being arrogant. I can see that if you don't know him well. He had an aire of authority when I first started to see him but that changed over time. Once I became a regular patient we'd tell jokes, arm wrestle, and I'd always leave his office laughing. Over the years I met his wife and kids. He was like the big brother I never had.
I'm 58 now and have seen many doctors over the years but non with his experience. He is my idea of what a doctor should be. Hell, I'd let him fondle my nuts and ask me to cough any day because chances are he'd detect something before the lab work would. But, I'm not sure I'd challenge him to an arm wrestle. Knowing him, he could probably still beat me!
You people are very lucky to consult with him. Take advantage of his experience.

A few issues pertaining to Dr. Nyhof he yes is VERY unprofessional and the last time I made a appointment in his old Main Street location I asked in the waiting room if other male patients had the experience that no matter what you went there to see him for 9 times outta 10 he would want you to drop your pants and underwear to do a testicular exam which my older brother also stopped seeing him because of this weird behavior of his plus the other male patients I talked to said they had the same problem him doing this very often. I was misdiagnosed for over 12 years with Shizophrenia that wasnt what I had but due to my constant arguements about my saying I didnt have it he forced me to take injections in the hip and many times him being upset I didnt come in to get my injection he'd do it rough and turn it slightly just to hurt me and he admitted it. Hes a closet case, rude, unprofessional and has no clue about mental illnesses. I was stuck for 12 years by him to change my diagnosis.

I had initially seen ‘Dr.’ Nyhof a number of years ago and I found him to be extremely unprofessional, vulgar (he made a comment to me about there being condoms at the front desk and they should be cherry flavoured), he also seemed to either lack the knowledge he should have at his age or else he simply doesn’t care.
I had fairly bad vertigo and when I asked him what could be some of the possible causes of it he just sat there and shrugged his shoulders and said ‘I dunno’.
He really seemed to think that he is better than his patients and that he’s doing you a favour by just being in your presence.
He lacks empathy and his knowledge of medical issues is outrageous.
I take comfort in the knowledge that one day (soon … he’s not a young man!) he’ll be elderly and I hope that he receives the type of ‘care’ that I and so many others have received from him that ought to wipe the smirk and smart alec attitude from him!

Dr Nyhof is an excellent doctor. He’s very knowledgeable & always helpful. I have recommended him to my entire family, and they are all very happy that I did. His Staff are very friendly, and I’ve never waited long to see him. Absolutely nothing bad to say about him… he’s an all around great person that genuinely cares. I highly recommend him to everyone.

I seen Dr. Nyoff for the first time in Sept. I suffer horrible panic and agoraphobia and was terrified and had high bp in his office, He made me feel comfortable and is sending a referral for me to see a specialist. I will continue to see this doctor. I read reviews and was afraid but I feel he was thrown under the bus. Very professional and very admirable qualities. He made me feel at ease albeit I am doctor phobic.

I just had second appt with Dr. Nyhof. I read the reviews last night and was very worried about today's appt. However, he was friendly, helpful and is setting up an appt for me to see a specialist about one of my issues. I really liked him. He listened to my issues and I felt very relieved when I left there. Will update if I have any problems with him, but so far, am happy with him being my Dr.

Visited this doctor recently. Seems to be an average doctor. Addressed all of my questions in a courteous manner. No complaints.
