Dr. Pilat Knows his Stuff, He is Always Helpful, and Responds to all My calls and Concerns.
I find that the Response from the Specialists, and The Internal Staff are a Barrier at times.
I wouldn't choose any other Doctor..

A man that can not and will not take advice. Or admit when he wrong. Will run with his tail between his legs.

Dr Pilat has been my doctor for 45 plus years. Dr Pilat has proven himself to be the best diagnostician in the city of Winnipeg. I believe his skill and knowledge is second to none.
I just saw him today for my regular three month appointment. As usual he was
attentive, caring, sympathies and put my mind at ease. He has been my family doctor since I was a teenager. He was my parents doctor and my children’s doctor.
When he decides to take a well deserved retirement, it will be a sad day for me.
He is a wonderful doctor and I have every confidence in him. I would be hard pressed to find another doctor as good, experienced and skilled as he is.

Possibly one of the WORST doctors I have ever seen. He was my family doctor since birth. I have suffered for many many years with multiple issues that he was completely disregarding and/or neglecting. Finally after leaving his care I started actually getting some real answers and diagnosis's. I strongly feel that if he hadnt been neglecting me for almost 2 decades, many of my chronic pain conditions and other medical conditions that have now been diagnosed, would not be nearly as severe as they are now if he would have just done his job. I would also likely not have developed further certain medical conditions that I will suffer with for life now, because of his neglect. I didn't leave his care sooner because I genuinely thought I could trust my doctor to take care of me. He always has some kind of excuse or complaint for things. Terrible mood swings, you either caught him on a good day or a bad day. Which very much reflected how your appointment was going to go. He would constantly lose paperwork or "forget" for MONTHS at a time to fill out paperwork or to send out a referral. Had to constantly badger him. He's NEVER available. If you need to get in you could be waiting weeks to months sometimes. Like he's not even a Specialist, if he were I could understand that happening. And then if you went to a walk in because you can afford to wait that long to see him, he would actually scold me for what he called "double doctoring". And that I should of made an appointment with him. Well if I did that, my health would have suffered even further from constantly waiting. They would cancel appointments last minute all the time. He would write refill prescriptions with the wrong dosage or even medication at times. So I constantly had to get them corrected. To put it simply, there is a plethora of examples I could continue to provide. But as you can see below, I'm clearly not the only one who was having all kinds of problems with him. He should have had his license pulled years ago, and I'm truly shocked that he's still allowed to "treat" patients. His staff is sadly no better. There used to be a few great ladies there, but there's some new girls there now and they are awful. Last time my Mom had an appointment, THEY screwed up the time in they're schedule and tried to tell her she missed her appointment, when really she was actually early. Then made us wait in the waiting room all afternoon until the end of the day after all the other patients were done and gone, before we were seen. So they screwed up the appointment, to no fault of our own, and then punished us for it and made us feel bad. They refused to take responsibility, and were stern that it was apparently our error. Apparently they don't realize that other patients have jobs too. I shouldn't have to take an entire half a day off work every single time you have an appointment with him. He's always notoriously LATE, even if you're the very first appointment of the day. And he continued for years to double and triple book appointments. I frequently would be waiting with other patients who all had the same appointment time. Terrible terrible doctor, would never recommended unless you enjoy been neglected.

May be worst Dr. I have ever been involved with. Does not care! If he spends more than 15 seconds with you it would be unusual. Very sefl centered and always has an excuse why he can't answer a simple question. how a hospital can use him is beyond my scope but when you are admitted you don't have a choice.

Very good clinician. Takes the time to listen and ask the right questions. I have come to expect a longish wait for my appointment and to book well in advance if possible. My husband can phone his doctor and get in to see him the same day. I've never understood that. What is the doctor doing in the meantime? Dr Pilat is always booked and has had some of the same patients for over 40 years. To me, this is the sign of a good physician. Years ago, my parents were both in the hospital at the same time and I would see him there in the morning and again in the evening visiting his patients. He took time out of his day to attend my father's funeral service which we all appreciated and took as a sign of respect he has for his patients. I am very satisfied in the care I have received over the years. Dr Pilat will often look for other avenues to clear up a health issue rather than write a prescription and although I know better, always counsels me on living a healthy lifestyle.

Seem to be late more times than not. This by itself would not be so bad but some of his care and communication could be improved. It feels like he is just going through the motions of job. He may make ok decisions with patient care/treatment but he communicates none of it. Not good at communicating test results, reasons behind his decision, or long term plans/treatment. Beyond this his bedside manner is generally polite.
