We have a family history of asthma, so when my 2 year old started having asthma symptoms we took him to Dr. Crowell and mentioned asthma. He told us it was too early for a diagnosis and gave him a steroid. He was seen 5 times in 5 months for asthma symptoms and each time was given a steroids and sent home. The 6th time we asked for a referal to a specialist, he refused and said it was not asthma and prescribed a steroid. We got a second opinion and this Dr immediately referred us to an asthma specialist. My son is now 8 and is doing fine on asthma medication. Other drs were amazed he was given so many steroids at such a young age. Will never recommend Dr. Crowell.

We took my daughter to Dr. Crowell because she had a high fever. We told him to please check her throat because we felt like she had a sore throat. He refused to check it. He said there was nothing wrong with her throat. The next day we took her to a different pediatrician to get a second opinion. She immediately looked in my daughters throat and found two nickel sized ulcers. Dr. Crowell would have seen this if he had taken the time to examine her properly. He is no longer our pediatrician.

My son has had developmental delays and feeding issues since birth. We went to our local family Dr and he referred us to Dr Crowell. We went with a list of our concerns. One of our concerns was our son's low muscle tone. The Dr never even picked him up. I wanted to have him tested for a genetic syndrome called Mosiac Down Syndrome. Dr Crowell told me and my husband that it would cost $12,000, the insurance would NOT pay for it. He also told us that you had to draw blood through the testicles for this test. Mothers of children with MDS said it was a simple blood test through the arm and that he didn't know what he was talking about. We eventually had him tested with a geneticist and it was a simple blood test and the insurance paid for it without any problems. We have been to a pediatric gastro Dr, a heart Dr, the geneticist, another pediatrician, ear nose throat Dr, and everyone of them could not believe Dr Crowell told us this. I do not recommend this Dr at all!
