Find someone else. He showed up the day of surgery with 3 students! Pretty sure all 4 had their hands in my eye! He admitted he "over corrected." A bad outcome! My vision much worse after the surgery! Awful!!!!!

Dr. Guyton recently performed my surgery and I have nothing but rave reviews for the entire process. From my first visit to my post-op care, Dr. Guyton was exceptional in every regard.

Dr. Guyton is, simply, the best in the world in his sub-specialty. He's treated my double vision for ten years and kept me from surgery that entire time by giving me the *exact* prescription I need and that only a handful of optical shops are capable of making to Dr. Guyton's exact specifications. Though it is more expensive, I recommend the optical shop in Hopkins itself. They know if they are off, even one degree, Dr. Guyton will be insisting they remake your eyeglasses exactly as he prescribed. Additionally, Dr. Guyton is a wonderful and nice man. Yes, he is "all business" when examining you but in-between that time, he is extremely personable. He responds immediately to e-mails and "works miracles" in his schedule if/when you really need it.

I went to see Dr. Guyton for accident related double vision. Staff doctors on his team were very good and helpful and conducted initial tests. He then conducted further tests. He was thorough and this first appointment too many hours. He suggested some eye exercises. After doing them for several months and seeing no results, I wrote him asking for some clarifications. He called to respond, something I did not expect. I got additional guidance as well as some further options I was not aware of. I feel like I am in expert hands.

Dr. Guyton is simply brilliant in my opinion and he may well be the foremost expert in the world at what he does. I've seen him several times, and he's operated on my eye, and I've been thrilled with him each time. He is very businesslike and doesn't waste any time or effort, so perhaps this is what some of the less flattering comments reflect. He's one of those doctors who clearly has devoted his entire life to his work; he regularly responds to emails very late at night and is extremely throrough in his approach. I would go back to him in an instant if needed, and I would refer anyone to him (people come from overseas to see him based on his reputation and results). Highly recommended.

Rude, arrogant and completely difficult to deal with. He may be an expert, but he is NOT willing to think outside the box or treat his patients like people. I would not recommend him AT ALL.
