Dr. Mitchell has a nice, clean office located at 325 E. Eisenhower Pkwy, in Ann Arbor. He is with the University of Michigan Health System and is part of the medical team at their Back & Pain Center. Unfortunately Dr. Mitchell doesn't always use his nice clean office when doing medical exams. He does workers comp related “Independent Medical Exams” at a filthy dirty old office located at 2236 Packard Rd, in Ypsilanti. When he completes these exams he writes long several page reports that are full of false statements. He uses the name Gene Mitchell (instead of Eugene O. Mitchell) on these reports and omits the date of the exam and address where the exam was done. Looks like he does not want the sleazy side of what he does to be associated with his practice at the U of M Back & Pain Center in Ann Arbor. I recently witnessed a medical exam that Dr. Mitchell did at the run down Ypsilanti office. Although the patient he examined had medical records from 5 doctors (one of the doctors being on his own medical team at the U of M Back & Pain Center) stating that they had a medical condition resulting in the use of an electric wheelchair, Dr. Mitchell wrote a false report saying this patient did not have the condition at all and has probably been faking for 5 years. As a result of this bogus report the patient, who can’t walk and had 16 surgical procedures because of their medical condition, just lost their workers comp payments and medical insurance.
