Some major concerns about this physician. He was not aware that breast cancer is equally heritable from the father's side of the family as the mother's. Frightening that he's so out of date. Equally as irresponsible, he never called me back to go over test results even though I had called regularly for nearly two weeks. And finally, when I had gone in to get some follow up blood work done, they did not have their scheduling system straight and I ended up having to leave after waiting for a very long time. I was told I didn't need to make an appointment and to just show up during certain hours. But when I got there, I was told by a Esther, a very rude receptionist, that I in fact did need to make an appointment. Even when the tech corrected her in front of me, she didn't give me so much as an apology. And when I called back later, she was equally as rude.So unless you're looking for a doctor who's out of date and who doesn't call you back, you may want to look elsewhere.

I made an appointment with Dr. Ivkov for a basic annual check-up that would be covered by my high-deductible medical insurance. Though I was very careful to emphasize that I just wanted a basic check-up, Dr. Ivkov made me do some kind of cardiovascular machine test, under the supervision of Dr. Ronald W. Galluccio’s staff, WITHOUT specifying that it was not part of the basic check-up, and would thus incur an additional (very large) fee. I was 30 years old at the time, and had absolutely no need for such an expensive, unnecessary cardiovascular machine test. Had I known it was not part of the basic check-up, I would naturally have refused it. At no point was I informed of the cost or optional nature of the exam. I therefore strongly discourage you from making an appointment with Dr. Ivkov or Dr. Gallucio. Their practice is clearly primarily interested in maximizing its fees and milking insurance companies.

Dr. Ivkov himself is good. However - he has a new physician's assistant - Maryann - who is very rushed and confused. Additionally, his staff lost my chart a month ago and still can't find it. They made a makeshift chart and lost that as well. Maryann said she would call me with test results, but never did. She said she would compare current exam results with historical results, but never did (no chart! - no new chart - no makeshift chart!) His staff used to be friendly - they seem to have been all replaced with cynical, grumpy workers, all rolling their eyes or generally looking like they hate their job and look down on the patients. Polite, yes. Nice - not. Don't go to Ivkov until he has a thorough staff-o-rectomy. Oh, yes, and the wait time . . .

Dr. Ivkov started out seeming like a great doctor. However in the end after I was MIS diagnosed with a blood clott, he proved to be horrible. Dr. Ivkov sent VERY important information to me in the mail, rather than picking up the phone or having his receotionist call me. I was taking blood thinners for an extra week because of this decision. I called him to explain that I wish he had just called me rather than waste time with the mail and he hung up the phone. As a 25 year old who had just been through hell and back I was left all alone. I can't believe a Doctor had the nerve to send information that was sooo important through the mail and then hang up the phone on a patient. I will never be going there again.

Dr. Ivkov is an excellent doctor. He was always very thorough and very helpful, and recommended additional tests as appropriate. Both my husband and I saw him for seven years before moving from NY. He helped to save my husband's life when he had a cardiac emergency, and got him to the hospital ASAP.

Ihave been seeing him for over 6 years and find him to be very thorough. He spends the time to speak to me and answer all my questions which is rare in medicine at this point in time. Whenever there has been a problem he follows up with both myself and the specialist. His associates are also quality physicians.
