He has delivered 2 of my children, one was an emergency c-section that saved my child's life and the other because the child was to large for natural delivery. I saw him often all the way through my pregnancies. He is still my GYN after over 19 years. I moved away from Athens and still take a road trip for my appointments. I could not ask fora better doctor that offers to pray with you when there is a tragedy in your family. I highly recommend him and his staff.

Dr. Pittman delivered my baby. I barely saw him when I was pregnant (maybe twice at the end of my pregnancy). There was an issue with my baby at the 20 week ultrasound (he wasn't there during the ultrasound) and had a nurse call and tell me they were concerned it was Down's syndrome and were referring me to UAB for another ultrasound. That's all they told me. A better doctor would have explained it to me instead of leaving, me with little information, worried sick. After I gave birth (healthy baby), I had a bad case of mastitis 3 weeks post partum with a high fever so I called him since it was over the weekend. He told me if it didn't get better to go to ER (no further prescriptions or help). Keep in mind I had a 3 week old breast feeding, so going to the ER was not a feasible option. Few weeks later they close for a week and wouldn't return calls and left no other doctor's # for emergencies.My grandmother is currently waiting on exam and has been waiting for 2 hours. Find MD who cares

Great Doctor, and the best bedside manners. very knowledgeable. takes care of his patients. you will be very happy with this Doctor.
