Dr. Katz's office is way overbooked. 8 out of 10 times it will take about an hour to be called in to the exam room and then 15 to 30 minutes to be seen. Dr. Katz will not really see you until about the third trimester. You will be seen by nurse practitioners. She believes she knows best and won't explain anything to you during the delivery. She without warning performed an apesiotomy and vaccuumed to get the birth done quicker rather than waiting it out for a more natural birth. There were no complications and the fetal heart monitor was perfect. She as a cat in the office and a cat litter box and any obgyn would know that cat litter can cause taxoplasmosis which is dangerous to the pregnancy. Beware that if you have any sort of complications she will subtely hint that for the safety of the baby she would recommend a c-section. We avoided the c-section because when we mentioned that to the nurse she said no your problem does not require a c-section and not to worry about it

This is a no nonsense doctor with a busy office, but a DOCTOR who I have witnessed on more than one occassion help patients who are unable to pay. Extremely knowledgeable and a patient advocate. I have been a patient of Dr. Katz for over 20 years and recommended many friends who are tired of OBG's that don't understand or just wanted the compassionate nature of a female doctor. She is one of the few who is a doctor first and a business woman second. Its no wonder she is booked months in advance. She is a wonderful person and a fabulous doctor!

This is a busy doctor - but a doctor that you want to go to if you have any problems, need special care or need more than just a regular check up (although her office handles that too). The doctor is not the super warm fuzzy, sticky sweet kind of person and neither are most of her staff members. But, the doctor and her staff are extremely knowledgeable, well educated, know how to get issues resolved quickly and efficiently (insurance, specific health issues - whatever) and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dr. Katz to my closest friends or family members (and I have).
