As he was standing in place of my family Dr. , a man who I have never met called me over the phone informing me ultrasound results and that my baby was not alive. His explanation was no heartbeat (fairly clear, but I wanted to know more about what was going on). He was generally nice but dismissive of my questions, and seemed maybe unable to answer them as he continued to repeat himself on concepts I understood. Instead of providing me with options for my missed miscarriage (as I later found out, results showed the baby stopped growing two weeks prior), referring me back to my OBGYN or making a follow up appointment, he decided for me that I was to wait 2-3 weeks. Which is simply just one option, and I’m honestly not sure it was the right one for me. He ended the phone call in saying he has also seen this happen before where a healthy baby is born 6 or 7 months later. I left the phone call feeling sad, unsure and lost. After waiting the allotted time, without receiving any follow up from the Dr. to see if I had miscarried, I had to call the pre-natal clinic and refer myself just in order to receive care I needed and find out that my baby had passed 4 weeks prior. Two before I even heard from Dr. Milburn.

This doctor is dismissive, uncaring, patronizing, and a danger to his field of practice. I wonder how many people will have to lose their lives before he loses his job.

Uncaring. Big headed. Immature. Belittling. We are apparently so desperate for doctors here that even a quack like Chris Milburn can continue to practice. Sad. Patient safety is not important with this twit.

Basically laughed and shook his head when I spoke about an issue as almost he didn’t believe anything I was saying.

We need doctors like Dr. Milburn, willing to speak up, putting patients first over their job security (which, should NOT impact job security. Discourse should not only be welcomed but encouraged in science, yet here we are). Thank you, Dr. Milburn!
