TRICARE
I had a high risk pregnancy due to high blood pressure and a small amount of preeclampsia during my 3rd trimester, I had to deliver early. Labor and delivery traumatized me. Another provider delivered my baby, however mentioned to the LPN after delivery that the sheers and knife used to help cut me was not sharp, so she could not have cut me to help my during my difficulty pushing. The LPN had to jump on top of me and push down on my stomach which made me unable to breathe. I grabbed my husband and yelled out loud that I could not breathe. The LPN just kept pushing on my stomach and the delivery doctor pulled my baby out. It was a HORRIBLE experience! My baby was rushed to the NICU. They refused to have me see my child stating that I was a unhealthy patient and until my BP went down, I can’t be with my child. The next day, I was notified that my child would be transferred out of state because they couldn’t house a premature baby.
I waited 3 days, the 4th day I met Dr. Sou Sou. He was an unpleasant doctor right from the moment he walked in the door. No sympathy for a woman who had just delivered a baby. His colleagues told me I would be discharged since my BP went down. However, he disagrees and states that I was a very sick patient and I can not leave and to give it time. My spouse asked him how much time and he said he doesn’t know. I had to argue and demand my patient rights to refuse on going service to be discharged. Dr Sou Sou then questioned am I requesting to be discharged to go out of state to be with my baby. I told him it is none of his concern. They had me hooked up to 2 IV’s, a leg massager, and a heart monitor. The nurses never listened when I requested to shower. I spent 4 days in bed with swollen hands from lab drawls and swollen feet from lack of exercise. I was terrified to even eat. Dr. Sou Sou had the nerve to tell me as long as I am eating, I’m not going to die.
To this day I refuse any on going care from Mayo La Crosse OB.
