I went in for an appointment to talk about my lab work with Dr. Holmer. I was low in B-12. I asked for a prescription to give a B-12 shot to myself as I could not afford to see Dr. Homler every month. I was hoping to work something out, and then he dismissed me. He also charged 100.00 yearly for administration fees that are not considered healthcare expenses, and I could not use my healthcare savings account for this fee.

Please Do Not go to this geriatric Dr. I put off changing dr. To my detriment. He mishandles healthcare with negligence. He should stop practicing- he is very incompetent now. I have first hand seen his decline as a decent Dr. I stayed as long as I could because his staff is caring, but , due to his misdiagnosing me several times over a period of several years ending up in hospital because of his repeated neglect. I would never recommend even my enemy to go to Mr. Homler

The first doctor I saw after I fired Howard Homler as my physician, said to me, “Dr. Homler is doing something very terrible to you. Do NOT go back to him.” Unbeknownst to me, Dr. Homler had been doing terrible, damaging, indefensible things. He abused his power of position and patient trust. After being abandoned by my doctors, medical group, and health system after a hospital, surgical Never Event, severe injuries, and complications, a Bay Area oncological surgeon had scheduled my first repair surgery to address iatrogenic injuries. I then had my first visit with Dr. Homler. I thought I was finally on the path to getting needed medical care for severe pain and symptoms. However, in secret, Dr. Homler did not start my medical care with the true medical facts known to him at that time, the surgical, pathology, imaging findings, and my medical history which was all completely documented in medical reports in his possession. He chose not to follow these clear known facts and findings and my signs and symptoms forward where they would lead to timely, correct, complete diagnoses of my medical conditions and the correct necessary treatment and procedures so that I could get definitive relief from severe, constant pain and symptoms, stop the compounding complications and disease, and resume working. Dr. Homler failed to correctly diagnose or facilitate the diagnoses of any of my medical issues. He wrote extensive false, erroneous medical records which were focused on discrediting me and confusing, omitting the medical facts. If at any time before my final visit Dr. Homler had been transparent and honest to my face about what he was doing, thinking, sharing, and erroneously assuming, I would have never returned to him. Only after I fired him was I able to obtain diagnoses, treatment, and procedures for my remaining medical diseases and injuries. He could have easily helped me if he had chosen to listen and conduct thoughtful, medically sound, fact-based differential diagnoses. If he had been an ethical, knowledgeable, trustworthy, forthcoming, compassionate doctor, he would have guided me through the necessary diagnostic testing and abdominal and spine surgeries in a timely manner without his obstruction, interference, and deliberate character smear campaign waged via medical records. I never returned to him after the day he exposed his true self and his defensive, misguided non fact-based medical beliefs to me. On this day, Dr. Homler entered the exam room and became visibly agitated, angry, lost his professional composure, exhibited disruptive behavior, and became very hostile and verbally abusive. He had a tantrum lasting the length of my appointment. His face became red and as he spewed his threatening brutal invective, spittle flew from his mouth and landed on my face because he had moved closely toward me, invading my personal space. I was trapped in the exam room while he terrorized, bullied, and berated me non-stop, and he was rude and interrupted me when I attempted to speak. I was in shock at his behavior and just sat on the exam table, waiting for his angry tirade to end so I could leave and never return. I then requested my complete medical records from him. Despite multiple requests, he never released to me complete records. I received partial records which were horrifying to read. Every time I saw him, he had lied to my face, then intentionally written different, false, defamatory, and erroneous information in my records. His records were almost entirely in contradiction to the facts known to him and in contradiction to my medical history and concurrent operative, imaging, and pathology reports which he had. His records were not a true representation of what was discussed during visits. There are glaring omissions because true, irrefutable medical facts interfered with his false narrative that nothing was physically wrong with me. He crafted records to put me in a false light, to mischaracterize, and dehumanize. He put false quotes in my mouth that I did not state and attributed thoughts and feelings to me that I did not think, feel, or express. I later learned Dr. Homler published information in which he states he writes medical records for juries. This is critical to know when considering the content, veracity, and purpose of his records and agenda. He made a preposterous case that I was merely psychosomatic, that my real, physical, diagnosable injuries and medical issues were just in my head. He wrote statements designed to alert doctors that I was to be blackballed and ridiculed. He shared his false, defamatory records with specialists in advance of my visits so specialists from whom I urgently needed care were outright dismissive. In violation of HIPAA, without my permission, after every visit, he emailed, faxed, mailed, phoned, and shared his false records with many who had no legitimate need of or right to my medical information.

It has always been an enjoyable and informative visit to Dr. Homler's office. He is very precise with his diagnostic abilities, and has done a great job in prescribing medications to start the healing process. He prefers healthy living to prescriptions, and will work with the patient to get into a more healthy lifestyle. His referrals have been excellent, never a wasted test. The office staff does a great job and always follows up with test results when needed. Dr. Homler never overbooks, hence you will always be able to see him within about a 5 minute time spam of your scheduled appointment. I have been a patient of Dr. Homer for several years and have always felt fortunate to have found such a great doctor.

He is a brilliant doc. He diagnosis symptoms quickly and prescribes the proper meds. However, his patient communication skills is not very good. He does not take time to adequately explain his treatments.

Dr Homler is one of the best physicians I have ever had. Not only is he brilliant, his follow up is very well organized. He is very careful with medications and supplements, he reviews everything you take on each visit to insure there are no negative interactions. I have never had to wait very long because he does not overbook himself. His staff are friendly and helpful although his office manager is sometimes over controlling in a way that is not always respectful.

Dr. Homler is a very effective internist. He listens carefully to the patients concerns and works deligently to resolve the medical issues. I have never felt rushed by the doctor. I have never waited more than 5-10 minutes to see the doctor, and have found his solutions to medical issues to be extremely effective. He is extremely careful to not order unnecessary tests. Best doctor I have ever had and I have 60 years of experience with medical professionals.

Feel of the office is that it's all about doctor's needs--not patient's. No telephone reminders of appointments; $40.00 missed appointment charge; $35.00 extra administrative fee charge; no effort to provide patient with copies of lab results. The office doesn't have a welcoming, relaxed feel--staff seems to be in "worker Bee" mode--heads down, little friendly eye contact or acknowledgement of incoming patients. Cold and super-efficient feel. Signs all over announcing Doctor's "rules" Not enough appointment availability, Too rushed.

Worst medical experience of my life and at 52 years, with multiple surgeries I have had numerous medical experiences with physicians. Took 6 months to get in, then after initial appt another 4 months to have follow up after lab work. The office tried to deny me copies of my alab work. When I finally saw the Dr. I asked a question instead of responding to me he left the room, came back and thrust an article at me waited 10 minutes came back asked me if the article cleared things up for me. When I said no, I still had questions he said he was done and I was no longer his patient. All this after waiting 10 months and an hour - he didn't want to respond to any questions- if you don't meek,y comply then he wants nothing to do with you. He left me with no thyroid medication. Strangest and worst Dr I have eve met!

Works hard to keep me from getting sick. Very good at determining what is wrong and who can fix it if something is wrong.
