Our mother was hospitalized since January 21/09 and passed away June 27/09. Dr Gitterman always made a point to see her on his hospital rounds. Not too many family doctors do this any more as quite a few of the nurses said. They commented on the fact that he visited our mother every day. Thank you for the wonderful care you gave our mother. The Lorusso family

I have been a patient of Dr. Gitterman's for 36 years. He has seen me through good and bad times with such compassion. He is so knowledgeable. I once said to him "You do realize that you cannot retire". His reply was "I will be retiring". What am I going to do without him? How does one go on with someone new when one has been under the care of such a fantastic doctor for so many years?

He did not take the appropriate care of my son who has since passed due to the neglet of this doctor and numerous other doctor;s involved!! he was only 3yrs old and died of a bacterial infection called Streptococcus .Dylan was seen at Trillium Hospital Dr.Gitterman conducted that Dylan was suffering from Allergic Blepharitis. My mom then had said to the doctor we had just come from Dr. Antwons walk in clinic and he said that Dylan my have a Bacterial infection and if that is the case then he needs blood work done...Dr. Gitterman’s response was RUDE!!! Oh he doesn’t know what he is talking about, it s allergies! Conjunctivitis is inflammation of the clear membrane that lines the eye. It is caused most commonly by infection with viruses or bacteria or an allergic reaction. Blepharitis is inflammation of the eyelid. It has the same causes as conjunctivitis. Blood work should have been performed on Dylan before given the strong steroid PREDISONE. How can a doctor send a child home in that condition? Big mistake!
