I think there are 2 Dr. Joseph Devitos in Internal Medicine confused as one doctor. One doctor seems to be located in North Massapequa, while the other is located in New York City at Murray Hill Medical Group. The one I am reviewing is the Dr. Devito at Murray Hill Medical Group.



He is the most excellent and available doctor ever. I recently got sick suddenly and called the office to see if I could see him on the same day and to my surprise, the answer was yes, outside of his normal office hours. I was so grateful that he was willing to stay after-hours to see me. He really listens to your concerns and asks very detailed questions to get a further understanding of your problem. He has very detailed explanation to what is ailing you and has great suggestions. I have seen Dr. Devito several times for annual physicals and sick visits and not once have I felt rushed or had questions I didn't get the chance to ask. He also reviews his previous notes before he meets with you so it makes you feel like he remembers you :)



Sometimes he runs late on appointment, but it's completely understandable given the amount of time he spends with each patient. Once I think I must have spent close to an hour with him. Even I felt so guilty for taking up so much time.

I am incredibly lucky to have found Dr. Devito.

I have been going to Dr. Devito since I was in HS 8 years ago. I cannot begin to describe what an amazing and thoughtful doctor he is. I have seen many doctors and he is, without exaggeration, the best out of all of them. He takes his time with you and does not rush you out. He is incredibly up to date with new medical developments. He takes his time to explain your options so that you can understand them. He reviews with you the problems you've had in the past to see how they have panned out. He has first hand knowledge of many specialists in the area that can help you. I am an extremely picky person when it comes to medical care and I really just can't emphasize enough what a blessing Dr. Devito is to this world.

Excellent doctor. Very smart, keeps accurate tabs on prior meetings, conservative and careful to explain his reasons for his recommendations for treatment. Clearly one of the best PCPs with whom I have spoken.

I went to Dr. Devito after reading all positive reviews on RateMds. I was highly disappointed with the service rendered to me by this doctor. He was not friendly and even rude, did not answer my questions properly and his staff made me wait in the waiting room for about 30 minutes, so I missed my business appointment on that day. Would not come agai nor recommend.

Dr. Devito is the best doctor I have ever been to. He is courteous, knowledgeable and takes time to be thorough. He remembers thing from past visit that I forgot. As a medical professional myself, I have never met another GP as good as him. He is by far the best doctor I have ever been too and I will never go to another as long as he is practicing

I've been with Dr. Devito every since I got insurance. Since then, I've never looked for another GP. Dr. Devito's bedside manners are extremely curteous, engaging, interested and naturally concern. He takes the time to listen and explains in plain well-paced language. You truly feel being heard and taken care of. He has great referrals and health tips and always reminding you of 'to dos'. Over the years the waiting time have extended, I try to be late rather than on time and it is true about the reception over the phone, I try to make appointments on-line at the MHMG site. Apart from that, no real compliants.

Best thing about Dr. DeVito: he actually takes his time to speak with you. He doesn't rush the appointment, and he seems to really care about what your saying. Highly recommended. Watch out, though: his staff is friendly in person, but frankly incompetent and borderline hostile on the phone.

Dr. Devito is an excellent physician, listens to you carefully, is up to date on everything, explains everything he will do, presents choices and recommendations. Visited me in the hospital after admission from the emergency room, and when the attending physician recommended surgery, Dr. Devito was not impressed with the attending and referred me to a specialist who advised me against the surgery. He is a unique professional, polite and empathic, a through-back to another era, and knows his field. I highly recommend him.
