Dr. Salter seems like a nice man but the wait was horrific and his staff is RUDE. They are rude in person and rude on the phone. You can't call without being interrupted before you have asked your question. Oh, AND, they all talk EXTREMELY loud. I decided against surgery there solely based on the office staff.

Some of the office staff were rude. An insurance glitch that should have taken less than 1 month to work out took about 5 months to resolve. Calls not returned, matters which were supposedly going to be addressed were not. Make sure you don't need anything Friday afternoon, because there was little/no availability of staff. I was one of 10% of those for whom bunion surgery didn't work; $10,000 between lost work and insurance costs lost, return bunion to show for it.

I was referred to Dr. Salter by a well-respected physician. On two separate occasions, I visited Dr. Salter's office (which actually resulted in four encounters). The appointments were scheduled for me and for my daughter. I have a ganglion cyst and my daughter a talus fracture. During the first visit - he aspirated the cyst and evaluated my daughter's injury, diagnosing a talus fracture from an x-ray. With no recommendations for stabilizing her ankle or minimizing her discomfort, he referred my (13 yr old) daughter for an unnecessary bone scan procedure. I refused the procedure and left a message - I received on return call. In my second appointment, we waited for over an hour to be seen by Dr. Salter - during which he affirmed the cyst had not disappeared. Despite me having contacted the office a week earlier, he learned for the first time that she did not have a bone scan. He then suggested an ultrasound and wrote a script for an ankle gauntlet. After waiting for over an hour, the encounter lasted 7 minutes tops. The office is manned my two quite lovely MA's and a receptionist that is the polar opposite. The receptionist is rude and dismissive - I find that she is not very accommodating, downright mean, to the patients. While waiting over 25 minutes for her to schedule the ultrasound appointments for both me and my daughter (shaking my head), she states that Beaumont does not do ultrasounds on a fracture. Why didn't Dr. Salter know this???? Two visits later, we find ourselves in the very same condition we were in at initial contact. Both visits were useless. I would never refer or return.

I also observed the receptionist interaction with an elderly patient who didn't understand the requirement for prior authorization/referral and she rudely and bluntly yelled at him "you can come to this office anymore". I found it quite offensive since the elderly gentleman clearly could not understand what she was trying to explain.

1 star is far too generous. It was a horrid experience.

Along with other people the wait time of an hour to two hours when I have set up an appointment well in advance is unacceptable. After talking to other patients waiting found out they are booking two or three people for the same appointment time. This office has one doctor in it. How is he going to see three people at the same time? Time isn't the only reason I stopped going. The quality of care is poor. Went elsewhere and was fixed up in two visits which I only waited 10 minutes for both times.

Everyone in the office is very professional and friendly. Wait times aren't too bad, but I choose early morning appointments. Explanations of procedures are straight-forward with no drama. I was made to feel very comfortable at my first visit.

Dr. Salter was very good, which is why I tolerated the long wait times for multiple appointments. Very long wait times. Bring a book.

I am absolutely flabbergasted at the negative reviews I saw on this site for Dr. Salter's office. He and his staff have been nothing short of amazing every time I, or my aging mother, have visited him.

I was extremely disappointed with this doctor's office. They mixed up my appointments twice, and then were extremely rude when I confronted them about it. The first time I granted them that it could have been a miscommunication, but the second time I saved the confirmation call. When I played the call in front of them to prove that they had messed up my appointment, they did take back their initial claim that I simply mixed up the dates, but refused to apologize. I found the service to be extremely unprofessional and disappointing. Do not go here unless you want to be ridiculed for expecting to receive medical care at your actual appointment time. Horrible!

I thought the staff and Dr. Salter were very professional and they treated me that way. I'll have no problem returning for follow-up treatments
