I was referred for an abnormal high grade PAP SMEAR. I was so worried, but even before i attended the practice, information was sent to me, explaining the procedure and clearly stating that what i had was likely "PRECANCER", not "CANCER". What a sigh of relief. This was within 3 days of sending the referral by my GP. Then on appointment day (1 week after referral: priority given for high grade), i expected it to be painful as i have a retroverted uterus and previous experience told me that, but Dr Tan explained everything and has the best equipment including a special chair to give special access to my bits, and he efficiently did what he had to do and it was over.
Results came back in 1 week, i was rung by the nurse, explaining that A LLETZ procedure was required, and within next 3 days, that was booked and performed. AMAZING! No pain. And they even had a toilet with a special wash/fry function to clean my bottom area after the procedure!!!
The results of the LLETZ then came back as precancer, requiring no further treatment! All fixed. I am so happy, and the staff were all trained to deal with people who are anxious, as they say: It's already bad enough to be sick, so they will carry and organise everything for me and do anything to reduce my anxiety and stress.....

I came to him for a second opinion after seeing another of his colleague(only 3 in town). He explained things as I asked him but went further to question my health and family history which he then referred me to genetics testing which we found the BRACA gene. This was not at all discussed by the other doctor. Following that I received surgical menopause and psychological counseling by his team of practitioners. World class service! He never made decisions for me but always presented options for me to choose from.

I found Dr Tan to be very professional & listened to my concerns. Dr Tan referred me to another specialist of different speciality instead of sending me back to my gp to follow up. I'm forever greatful for the referral to another specialist as it picked up early stages of bowel cancer. I'm greatful for Dr Tan delivery of care as he believes at looking at the patient holistically. I would send all my friends & family members to Dr Tan

I am lucky to be financially well off. I understand what the other reviewers ahem said, but I cannot flaw Dr Tan's approach to medicine: not to just treat the condition but to treat the two total health, which he does very well with his team of people. Unfortunately, good medicine doesn't come cheap, and he warned me this. I am 100% comfortable with Dr Tan who takes his time to make sure everything is done in the best way. He is always running late as he gives the time required for complicated situations like in my case.....I slowed him down 30mins late.

Dr Jason Tan is building an empire on the bodies of very sick patients (sorry only ones with thick wallets). He will refer you to someone on his payroll to keep you paying and make sure you have nothing left in the bank when he is finished. Although cancer was diagnosed and over $10,000 (out of pocket before any surgeries were performed), Dr Jason Tan never found or removed any cancer from me (that was left to competent surgeons who often had no gap). His lack of follow up care almost killed me because of an untreated (by him) infection after surgery by him. He tried to blame every other doctor I had care for me and took no responsibility. He is money grubbing and unprofessional.

I saw Dr Tan for a second opinion after seeing another gynonc surgeon (recommended by my non-regular GP) who wanted to operate that week.....something didn’t feel right so I decided to seek this second opinion and I’m so glad my GP recommended Dr Tan. I cannot speak more highly of Dr Tan and his team. The care and professionalism I received was brilliant. Even tho he was running really late, he apologised profusely to everyone in his waiting room and spent time with me answering all of my questions both before and after my examination and procedure. I never felt rushed and I left with a new outlook on life. My treatment will be ongoing but I’m forever grateful I listened to my gut instinct...

Jason Tan showed no care, empathy or understanding. Didn’t discuss the procedure before he did it. Wrote incorrect information on referrals for scans, radiographers were unable to contact him. Told me the most likely cause of my pain was cancer before even getting a history from
Me. He then proceeded to do invasive examinations and tests. At the end he finally felt where the pain was, rushed off into the other room and yelled out “I’ve found it”. What he thought was the cause of the pain. It wasn’t cancer. Turns out the thing he “found” on my scan was normal, the radiographer was perplexed and couldn’t work out what he was referring to. He even admitted at the end of the appointment that the tests he performed were probably not necessary and would be completely normal. I paid over $600 for tests that were completely irrelevant and unnecessary. As a young female on my own I was in complete shock. Terrible experience.
