I have been seeing Dr Moodley for a number of years. He has always been on time, and provided the most accurate diagnoses and the most relevant treatment. He goes beyond the norm to provide very detailed and caring advice and has a real knack for diagnosing what has perplexed GPs. He will always provide the most cost-effective treatment. Honestly, I have been to two previous dermatologists and Dr Moodley is by far the most caring, experienced and professional you will find in Cape Town.

I have trusted Dr Moodley with my skin care for the last 3 years and have found him to be both skilled at his specialty and generous in his time and attention. My recent visit, the day before he went on sabbatical, led to the discovery of a condition that would require treatment and follow ups. Instead of asking me to go to another doctor, Dr Moodley provided me with his private number so that I could send him updates/photos of the treatment and also offered a consult during his off time. Highly recommend his services

With both of my appointments (initial and follow up) with Dr Moodley, I’ve had to wait 1.5 hours each time to see him, without so much as a courtesy call from his team that he’s running late. I’m yet to see any results from his recommendations and each time, had to pay R1,200 for less than 15 mins of consultation. He spends most of the time speaking about himself and his issues and I’m thoroughly disappointed with the service overall.

Waiting for 1h30 in the waiting room although I had arranged an appointment well in advance. Yield seems to be the purpose here. 15mn consultation is charged R1200 .. treatment of benign skin lesion is R300 (code 0241) AND treatment of benign skin lesion is R2700 (code 0243) .. treatment was liquid nitrogen of keratosis on leg, head and a bit on torso .. TOTAL = R4200 (when I asked if there was an error in billing I was answered No ! .. Dr does not even greet you to say Goodbye after the consultation as he's already talking to the next patient. I have also noticed that he talks more than he listens. A great pity as it was not like that in the past. I will not go back.

A visit to a doctor is something I do “begrudgingly” as I never make it a priority.

Had some spots that I wanted to have seen too which led to a recent visit to Dr Moodley (they had bothered me long enough to make the appointment) - they were not the reason why I had to go in the end.

What was important was that Dr Moodley did a sweep of my body in entirety, something I didn’t think was necessary as I knew why I was there!

But I am glad that he did, during the thorough exam, Dr Moodley had found a spot that was not in my field of view.

It was excised on the day and sent to the lab, with the reassurance that it is likely early and preventative (which the lab has confirmed).

Excellent diagnosis from sight and experience, that has changed a possible worse outcome (had I waited another few months).

Make time for a bi-annual checkup when your familial history warrants such. Dermatological care is as important as a visit to the Cardiologist.

My 2 year old first saw Doctor October 2021. Before then my son never had proper sleep but this experience has been life changing.
My son now has an improved quality of life, he is a comfortable and happy toddler.
If you just listen to understand and follow all methods / guidelines / instruction as Dr gives them; you are guaranteed results.
