When I arrived for my appointment, I was sent to a separate waiting room and was seen after two hours, including my questioning about the time. They had a new system and was told I was "lost" in the system. When the nurse came to get me, she said she thought I was in billing all that time. I was a new patient with no diagnosis, why would I be in billing? When Dr. Pala came in, she made no comment of the time and immediately asked why I stopped taking my iron like an angry mother scolding a child. I told her I was never told to start and that I was there for help with anemia. She then told me I was anemic due to heavy periods. I told her that I do not have them often or heavy and this has been the case for several years. Then she threw out two diagnosis and told me to have blood drawn and come back in a month. I stopped her and asked how she came to those conclusions after not even speaking to me. I also asked what those were. I was misinformed about one but she did give me the numbers proving where my iron level was. I did the blood work planning to take it to a different doctor. A month later, I got a bill, when they ran my labs, they ran them as self pay rather than putting it through my insurance. I cannot get anyone on the phone to explain this error. When I found a new Dr, I had to pull teeth to get the lab results and was even lied to about them sending them over to me. I had to get them from my GP. The front desk and phlebotomist were wonderful, but they are the only ones in that office I saw that were even nice. I cannot and will not recommend this Dr to anyone. I was extremely disappointed.
