Dr C gave me my life back. I was not an easy patient! But he was always wise and compassionate (even when hard truths were necessary) and saw me through to recovery. I literally trusted him with my life and will always be grateful for his care.

Dr Chakraborty is the best psychiatrist I ever had. He's an "outsider", so if you're an outsider, he'll understand you. He'll believe you. I was gaslit and slandered by a very powerful institution, and Dr Ch was the very first person to even believe me. He gave me the tools to take my life back and reclaim my identity. He never pushed drugs on me, but always explained the benefits and side-effects of any we might try together. He supported me against that institution and others. He is very smart and educated. He would notice things that I wouldn't notice or he would recognise things that I didn't think needed recognition. He has a coy smile and a clever sense of humour. As far as I know, he's not practicing anymore, and the circumstances around that are unclear. I miss him.

Dr Apu Chakraborty is a very gifted psychiatrist. He has saved my life. I’m forever grateful for his care.

As far as I know he is no longer practicing due to unforeseen circumstances. Anyone who was his patient at St.Paul’s should probably reach out to be connected with a different psychiatrist. AAC (@VGH) can help connect you and provide support, or also the St.Paul’s ER I believe.

He’s the best so calm and caring anyone saying otherwise is one of a million out of control patients this man deals with on a regular basis he admitted me and was so great when I was suicidal but a lot of other patients in the ward scream at him and call him names it’s amazing how he keeps so calm and caring even when patients are flying off the handle. Amazing Doctor!

Be careful of this man. The comments below that talk about his arrogance are accurate. He presents a face of attentive listening and has formed his impression based on your history of your visits not on what you say. My experience was he acted sympathetic to create a false sense of safety, to mine the information he wanted, and his judgment was without my input in the end.
