Dr. Asti misdiagnosed and belittled me. It wasn't until I found a new much better psychiatrist I was correctly diagnosed and treated successfully. My life is a million times better thanks to that doctor, unlike Dr. Asti who made me feel like I was just a number to check mark off with a potentially mental health damaging treatment. Also she is a product of big pharma pushing pills, I'm glad I found my current psychiatrist. Highly DO NOT recommend Dr. Asti. Stay far away.

Dr. Asti is a really good doctor she gave me Abilify injections for my maintenance on my bipolar disorder the injection works by changing our brain chemistry it also helped me get over some back pain. I was having nerve pain in my lower back for 5 years or so but recently, after taking these injections, my back has started feeling better I think because I might’ve had a serotonin deficiency and the way this medicine works is by balancing your serotonin and dopamine levels. I would definitely recommend Dr. Asti. The only problem is she has too many patients.

Dr Asti is a pawn in the machine of the large pharmaceutical companies. I saw her every six weeks or longer for 20-25 minutes for several years. She would reach into her bottomless drawer of sample medication each time I didn't respond well to a script. She once told me that the wiring of my brain was the cause of these medications not working yet, still she would push another. When I made the decision to try other strategies beside meds like DBT, CBT I was offered in person group meetings at the NHS st Catharines site. These groups are redundant and condicending. They treat people like the have learning disabilities and not mental issues. There's a huge difference.. Of course I was dropped as a patient. She diagnosed me with BPD, ADHD, Anxiety disorder and depression. These in combination have been very devastating to life. I always felt like she was in over her head. She sells drugs for big pharmacy and little else.

. Dr asti He’s a good doctor if everything is on her terms. Once a problem arises she freaks out, she talks over people and shoves anti depressants down their throat . She needs a wake up call or a rude awakening to become good at her career again

Dr Asti saved my sister's life when she was hospitalized several years ago. She has always been kind while being honest & straight-forward, caring, listens closely to what D. has to say, explains regarding medications & possible side-effects. Dr Asti is an exceptional psychiatrist & a wonderful person. She treats her patients & family members with respect. We are blessed. Thanks, D & her
sister C.

Wow! I cannot (literally!) believe some of these comments made about Dr. Asti! This woman has been such an important part of my recovery over the past 10+ years that I truly do not know where I would be without her. Not once have I questioned her integrity or intelligence. Her punctuality shows a true respect for her patients, their time and their need. Of the numerous combinations of medications I have tried over the years, Dr. Asti has gone over each one at length including possible side effects and interactions. She has pulled out her CPS a number of times to double check (as doctors are not pharmacists) information and confirm what she had told me. I know with certainty that Dr. Asti cares about me as her patient and as a person, and I am confident that I am not an exception. She has also never treated me as a child by keeping things from me. If there is something that I need to hear, she will tell me, and then gives me the opportunity to discuss the situation. What good is any therapy if it is not truthful on both the part of the patient, and the doctor?

I wasn't expecting to leave a review in defence of Dr. Asti as I was looking through this site. The fact that it is necessary almost hurts a little bit. This is a doctor that has done so much good for so many...what a shame to think that anonymous reviews can negatively influence a person in need, keeping them from getting care from such a compassionate and dedicated professional. We are all entitled to our opinions. If someone feels so strongly to write a horrible review like the few that are on here then there was obviously some sort of miscommunication that caused the person to react and want to "tell their story." Finding help where mental health is concerned is often overwhelming, and the nature of the illnesses are not nearly as cut and dried as physiological ones, leaving family members and patients feeling hopeless. I'm sorry these people did not find Dr. Asti to be the one who could help to pull them out of the pit of despair and frustration that often accompanies mental illness. To others reading this, do not hesitate. Dr. Asti is a kind-hearted, compassionate, and extremely intelligent doctor. If you are lucky enough to be referred when she is accepting patients, then count this as one of the first blessings on your road to recovery.
