Dr. Samadi performed my surgery June 27, 2018 and I am on the road to recover with minimal symptoms and minimal discomfort after spending a day and a half in the hospital. My journey from Lakeland, Florida to New York to receive the best care from the best urologist in the country and in the world was well worth it! The main factors which played a key role in my decision-making process in determining whether or not Dr. Samadi was the right urologist for me were his skill, experience, and knowledge and he is the best in those areas. Dr. Samadi has made it his mission to understand, educate, develop, and implement ways to help to prevent and treat prostate cancer. Specifically, with his Samadi Modified Advanced Robotic Technique (SMART) he developed. He has as earned my respect and gratitude as long as I live.

After being diagnosed with Prostate Cancer in May of 2017 I immediately started researching my condition which spanned a six month period. This included improving my comprehensive understanding of the disease, leveraging all available resources to interpret my specific stage of cancer, identifying the pro's / con's of all options available and identifying the top specialists in each of the treatments available. Prepared with my questions I met multiple times with leading Prostate Cancer specialists in the New York Metro area. Although I received very conflicting advise, a number of the surgeons recommend Active Surveillance, I decided to undergo a Robotic Prostatectomy by Dr. Samadi using his proprietary SMART Technique. My surgery was performed in mid-December, 2017 and my recovery was remarkable and matched the expectations set by Dr. Samadi and his staff. A major milestone for me was to start running 5K's again which I accomplished two months after surgery. I am well on my way to a full recover and have the highest level of confidence that I will achieve this. A decision of this magnitude is a very personal one. Based on my experience I highly recommend spending the time in gathering all the facts and if you decide to move forward with a Prostatectomy secure a surgeon that provides you with the level of confidence that your quality of life will be preserved.

When Dr. Samadi’s office replied to my written question from his web site I had actually just received the results of my prostate biopsy from the Cleveland Clinic. My short question on BPH was irrelevant. I now had prostate cancer so when his office asked me to send them my medical records I promptly complied.

I soon got a call from his office and then, Dr. Samadi himself called that same Saturday morning for a consultation. That’s how it began. He was engaging, caring and professional. We set up a date for my surgery. All the arrangements and testing were done through his excellent staff long distance as I live in Ohio.

It was nice to be back in the NYC where my wife and I had worked for awhile in the 90’s. I met the staff I had talked with so often over the phone. They were warm and welcoming; but we were early. Dr. Samadi would see us in a little bit.

A well-dressed gentleman in the spacious reception area took an interest in me as I looked about at the pictures on the wall and the brochures about Dr. Samadi and robotic surgery. He said sit down - maybe with a slight Austrian accent. He was there for follow up. He said, “ I will tell you something.” He said, “He’s the very best” (DR. Samadi). “You’ve come to the right place; you’ll be well taken care of.” It was nice to hear that spontaneous praise; he didn’t know me from Adam and this was high praise indeed for Dr. Samadi. It fit so well with the office atmosphere I sensed when I came in.

Dr. Samadi came into the exam room impeccably dressed and a consummate professional. I explained my prior surgeries and issues and Dr. Samadi answered all of our questions. As I mentioned scar tissue and mesh, he joked, “So you’re going to make me work”.

My processing at Lenox Hill Hospital went smoothly. We were told to arrive there early and that really paid off.

Now I was taken in and prepped for surgery. While in my gown and sitting in a comfortable chair there was a hub of activity all around. The person confirming my information sat next to me – a very pleasant person who double-checked everything. And next to her sat Dr. Samadi smiling, happy to see me; and the anesthesiologist then sat down a few feet away, smiling, as he spoke directly to my wife and me. I don’t recall what we said, but there was a lot of laughter. Then the operating room nurse introduced herself. This was something; everyone was in a good mood; in fact they were excited. I hesitate to use this metaphor but it fits. It was like game day and it was game on. This was more than people following procedures, doing time-outs and being diligent. This was excellence in action. This was chemistry that you don’t’ see very often. It comes from the tone at the top; in this case it came from Dr. Samadi. Everyone was excited; everyone wanted to be there doing just what they were doing. What an exceptional operating room team.

And I was so glad I that I was there.

Everything went well. Dr. Samadi detailed the surgery to my wife. It was more complicated than usual; it took longer as my mesh was an issue. I was one of those who had a more aggressive cancer than the biopsy reveled. He followed up with me the next day at about 5:00 AM! He has boundless energy.

The recovery ward was magnificent. I can’t say enough about the facility, and the five-star food just perfection, (Enjoyed mainly by my wife as I was on a delicious regimen of Jell-O, salt-less broth and bland tea.) I believe that the quality setting does help how you feel and it contributes to your recovery. This was perfect in too many ways to mention. And the nurses were top notch as well.

Lastly, God bless Dr. Samadi. Thank you for what you did for me.

More than Two years ago I was having difficulty passing urine. It was a very painful experience.
So, I started to look for good urologist with good reviews. Dr. Samadi was On of them.
. I made an appointment and I waited Three weeks for that appointment.
After I arrived for my appointment I waited more than 75 minutes. The nurse came to me and
asked me some questions and took blood from me. When she took blood from me, she somehow put the needle wrongly.. She apologized to me and took blood again.
I waited for the doctor for more than 25 Minutes and finally he came he saw for less than 2minutes and told me One word I WILL HELP YOU and left He never asked me anything else.
I was suffering badly.
The doctor went to see other patient and I was told by the receptionist to to have a MRI
and then biopsy. She told me that the doctor will be on vacation for a month. And then by Why at dr Samadi"s office my PSA was 64, I think when the nurse made that mistake, my body reacted to it and elevated
my PSA to 64
I thought that I am going to die very soon??????

a chance Dr. Samadi came out of one of the rooms and I went to him and yelled at him:
Dr. I am suffering, please help me I need some thing to help me urinate... It was only at that time
he prescribed me some antibiotics, although, he never explained to me what was my problem.
It was only when I gave my pharmacist, I new that I was having prostate infection.
After a week or so, I got a call from Dr. Samadi's office and the nurse told me that my PSA was 64
At that time I went to my doctor and he sent me to Quest and the result was:
my PSA was 14
I am 71 year old and never had any problem with my prostate.
I decided to cancel my appointment with dr. Samadi. I think that he should have spent some time with me preparing me for biopsy.

May you never need to face a horror of nature, when one is diagnosed with cancer it's like a death sentence. But at the same time I think God is kind enough to grant us a second chance to life. My dearest uncle that is very very close to my heart got diagnosed with a very aggressive prostate cancer.
After a lot of research and studying we chose Dr. David Samadi, and he gave my uncle a second chance of life. Dr. Samadi spent a lot of time explaining the aggressiveness of the nature of the cancer. He also gave us other options, like radiation, and cyber knife, other than surgery. He baby sat my uncle throughout the whole process, like his own family members.
Dr. Samadi showed a lot of emotions and concise, he even gave his own personal cell phone to my aunt, and I remember my aunt calling him many times on his cell phone in the middle of the night. I've never seen any other doctor whom would give his personal cell phone to a patient.
When we went to walk him into the surgery room doctor Samadi showed up with a very calm smile, he held onto my Aunt's hand and said, "I will bring him back better than how he is going in." It was like a dream, very fast, very emotional, and heart stopping. Although it was a rigorous cancer a year and a half later my uncle is doing fantastic. My uncle stayed at the hospital after the surgery with us for only one night. We were so shocked, we were treated like royalty in a 5 star hotel, they even have their own personal chef. After the surgery Dr. Samadi came to visit us many, many times to see how my uncle was doing. He joked and laughed with us, we couldn't believe a cancer surgeon would have such a great sense of humor. Our experience overall was just fantastic with him, we will always be grateful to Dr. David Samadi.

A short life changing story about a genius of a Doctor. 3 1/2 years ago after losing mid 7 figures in a real estate deal and not feeling good about myself, I was told I had an elevated PSI, a few months later my wife convinced me to see a doctor, unhappy with his manners I proceeded to see 3 more docs getting a biopsy from one
The results were stage 4 prostate cancer enough to push me over the top after my financial wos. I decided to do nothing and let nature take its course. One Sunday while watching Fox News and there Medical A team which Dr Samadi was one of, after watching my wife said I'm calling him, I said are you crazy, he is top doctor on Madison ave do you think he is going to see me with the worst insurance in the world, forget it. The next day she did call and said I had an appointment in 2 days
Shocked I said ok last doctor I'm going to see
I went to my appointment, amazed, his assistant spent a hour with me then Dr. Samadi spent another 45 minutes going over my case, as he was turning the pages he asked what insurance I had, before I could answer he hesitated and said "ah shit" he turned another page and saw I had a very problematic case due to other surgeries I had on abdomen, there was tons of scar tissue and layers of mesh, that is why no one else wanted to touch me
He looked up at me and said, "NO PROBLEM DONT WORRY"
We talked a bit and he set a date for the surgery
I of course had to get clearance from 3 other doctors, which his staff made all arrangements, when I went to all the other doctors none of them took my insurance
They all asked who referred me, when I said doctor Samadi, each and every one of them said no problem we will accept your insurance, as if GOD sent me
Another amazing thing the day of surgery which doctor Samadi normally does 3 cases, well do to my problematic case
"HE BLOCKED HIS WHOLE DAY"
Amazing Surgery went on without any problems
He visited me the next day gave me his cell phone #.
He even called me at home
Not only is he the best of the best Doctors he is a sincere and careing human being
He truly saved my life when I was giving up and probably lost money
"DOCTOR SAMADI ". I owe you

On a scale of 1 to 10 he is way over 10. He is a lifesaver. My prognosis was one of the worst possible and 9 years later I am still alive and functioning well with a good quality of life. I owe it all to Dr. Samadi. He is truly someone special that you can only meet once in a lifetime if you are lucky.
