Very few specialists have both the surgical knowledge and skill as well as the emotional intelligence and communication skills that Brendan Klar has. He and his staff are dedicated and committed to the wellbeing and healing of all patients. But he is also not a pushover. Getting your knee done requires all his skill but he expects it to be a partnership and that you will do the required work to recover well. From diagnosis to surgery recovery to his followup checks he is extremely organized and you are never left wondering what next. He is outstanding. If you have a crook knee go see him. He’ll give you alternatives to surgery where possible but if not, will help you confidently rake the plunge.

I have recently undergone a knee replacement under the care of Brendan Klar. He shows genuine care for his patients even visiting them both days of the weekend. He listens, he is clear and honest with his explanations and is an all round good person and an outstanding surgeon. During my time in hospital I only heard good things about him - from other patients and from the nursing staff. I consider myself very fortunate that I have struck gold with Brendan as my surgeon.

Dr Klar is the most wonderful man. He is a great surgeon and the nicest man who makes u feel so safe He really cares about his patients. He is easy to talk to and explains everything in terms u can understand. I love Dr Klar I can't recommend him enough.

If you have a knee problem in Canberra then Dr Klar is your man. Besides the fact that he is the best at what he does, he is also an all round top bloke. He actually cares about his patients which is why you end up waiting a little longer to see him. He gives a detailed diagnosis with all your options and explains things so the average bloke can understand. Keep in mind that he only performs surgery in private hospitals but the reason why is that he is that good. I came in with quite a complex knee injury on a Thursday which needed urgent attention and he had holidays booked for the Sunday. No worries, he shuffled a few things around and found a spot for me on the Friday but not without doing all the necessary tests to see if it was safe for it to go ahead. The guy is a genuinely great human being who isn't after just your money rather your well being. I couldn't recommend him enough and I want to thank him again for helping me out in an otherwise bad situation.

Extremely helpful and approachable. The best foot surgeon in town. Values patient care above all. Though rated him low with punctuality in his consultations, probably because of the tremendous number of patients who come to see him. Nevertheless, like I said, excellent surgeon.
