I have intimate knowledge about Dr. Ginnish. I think it’s imperative that any potential patients know she has severe mental illness herself. I am happy to see she has 2 positive reviews despite my personal experience with her; she does care about her patients, even if at the expense of her loved ones.
But anyone who is interested in her personal decision making ability and her mental stability should know her personal life is a mess and lies to herself and everyone around her on a daily basis. I wouldn’t trust her with my life if given the option. She has undisclosed diseases/viruses she refuses to acknowledge.
I also think it’s important to note she was passed over for a position in any Halifax hospital positions dues her mental health situation, hence her position in Truro.
She may be a decent woman in some capacity, but her efficacy as a doctor is lacking. From when I personally spent time with her, at least 3 patients from 2012-2017 committed suicide under her care. If those are good odds for you then have at it. Personally, I suggest you seek treatment in Halifax if you’re initially assigned in Colchester. Good luck.

Dr.Ginnish helped me a lot! She listened attentively to me talk and was very understanding. If anyone else sees her, they're lucky to have such a good doctor.

My son was admitted into the psychiatric ward at Colchester Hospital. I was very concerned that the history of his illness would not be accurately taken into account and that he would not receive appropriate treatment before being released. Thankfully due to Dr. Ginnish's efforts this was not the case. She took the time to look in detail through his past records and spent hours talking on the phone with family members and previous doctors. She really went the extra mile to make sure that my son received the proper treatment and was in no rush when it came to hearing about his past histories or to push him out of the hospital without having a proper plan in place. I am very thankful to Dr. Ginnish and her efforts to see that my son received proper care. 'Caring' is the operative word, and her caring about my son and his health made all the difference. I can't recommend her highly enough.
