Dr. McNulty is incredible!! He found the problem causing me severe pain that my previous two orthopedic surgeons missed. Thank goodness I saw him before having that third spinal fusion with one of the other doctors.

Six months ago he performed an extensive spinal fusion for me. He was very attentive to my concerns and individual physical condition. He was meticulous about my care before, during and after surgery. If you need a "Teddy bear" for a doctor, he is not for you. If you need an orthopedic surgeon who is extremely proficient and exceptional, call Dr. Patrick McNulty.

On Oct 11, I fell off a roof, broke my back. Was sent to UMC where Dr. McNutly not only repaired my back but was also able to straighten me up . I have Ankylosing Spondylitis that start hunching my back about 16 years ago. Keep in mind I also had 7 cracked ribs and a puncture lung that the Doc had to work around. Great job, very good recovery,my back was the least of my problems, the ribs gave me the grief. I'm very pleased with the my results.

It is one thing to be arrogant about who you are then there is another thing to be just mean. I was happy with this doctor until my last follow-up. Where although my x-rays showed healing properly, I was chastised like a child because of something I did not get his permission to do. Very disrespectful. Thank goodness it was my last time seeing him.

I had a complicated lower back spine operation in April of 2018. The surgery involved coming in from the lower back and also the right side of the torso. Operation lasted 11 hours. It took Dr. McNulty so long because he had to take out all the hardware from 3 operations I have had (other surgeons) in the last 15 years (degenerative disc disease) and come up with a new hardware to fix everything - the old with the new. He also found a lot of scarring from these previous operations and took a long time cleaning that up as well.
Don't be misguided if Dr. McNulty may seem harsh or brusque. The previous review??? Just look at his language! Does Joe M. sound like someone who is mature, clear-headed and objective? This is definitely not a situation where you want a "nice" doctor or are otherwise easily offended like "they left me waiting for over an hour".
The single most important thing is the surgeon's knowledge, experience and skill. He is probably one of the best out there. I have come out of the operation with over 50 stitches and feel fine. I am in moderate pain but well-watched over by Dr. McNulty's staff as to refills, etc. Dr. McNulty's staff is also 5 stars. They can be overloaded with patients (something common these days) and yet they always answered my questions, returned my calls, or explained things to me in person. My operation was at UMC and they were fantastic as well.
Both doctor and staff deserve 5 stars.

Dr. Patrick McNulty is absolutely the best spine doctor in the world. Prior to meeting him 15 years ago I had been in pain with my back for years even having surgery to repair discs two years prior with another surgeon. Dr. McNulty performed a fusion to my lower back which has been good ever since. Due to degenerative disc disease I have kept in touch and in 2015 he determined that my cervical spine now needed surgery. As I told him if he said that was what I needed then I trusted him and let’s do it. In between the two surgeries I had moved out of Las Vegas and immediately told everyone that should something happen to my back they were to put me on a plane to Vegas to see Dr. McNulty and that no other doctor was to touch my back. He is the best and I will always trust him with my back issues. Some say his bedside manner is not good but I will differ in that he has always been pleasant with me and very straightforward. Something I wish all doctors would do. Don’t beat around the bush tell me like it is even if it is not what I want to hear. He is the one doctor that after surgery when my husband called to ask questions he himself returned the call not one of his nurses. He is amazing and I thank him for all he has done to give me back a quality of like I thought was gone forever. Thank you Dr. McNulty!!!

No bedside manner, he didn't want me to talk, wasn't going to look at the MRI, until I insisted. I felt like I was wasting his time. Arrogant! His nurse tried to schedule another appointment. I don't think so!!

I started seeing Dr. McNulty after a rear end accident back in 2015, fast forward to today and I'm post 8 months L5 disk fusion with hardware. After thorough discussions and action plans to improve my spine health, Dr. McNulty recommended surgery and that was the difference. He didn't beat around the bush, he gave me realistic solutions for me to make my decision. I just had my follow up x-ray, good bone growth, Very pleased. He was post surgery informative on rehab and by month 5, I was walking 3-5 miles a day and elliptical machine 3 times a week, plus various floor exercises. I'm convinced that has allowed me to be almost pain free at this point in my rehab. I still watch what I lift and do as far as posture, I feel at this point I'm at 80%, but at a resting position-standing or sitting-no pain. Dr. McNulty is a very skilled surgeon that had a plan to repair my injuries and I couldn't be happier.

Nasty piece of work. Really makes you feel stupid, I would take a dead cat to this person. wish i'd read all the reports concerning his past behavior. Google, you will find out all you need to know. This is what you get when you are poor. sent reports to other specialist I am seeing that have untruths. Before you even think about seeing this person please , please wait for at least a human being, A real professional. Only thing he did for me was to wake me up and realize I have to be my own advocate and prevent anyone like this from ever getting anywhere near me...

Rude, insensitive, condescending, dismissive, arrogant, God complex...I could go on. I'm not looking for someone to baby or coddle me but I do want someone to listen to me and not mock me! I have degenerative discs, arthritis, bulging/herniated discs etc. and an extremely high pain tolerance and I do not go to the doctor unless it is absolutely necessary, I have seen Drs that are less than warm and fuzzy, I actually prefer not to have things sugar coated, but this guy is just a full on jerk! While he was checking my range of motion and flexibility he had me extend my legs to see if it caused pain, it did not and I simply informed him that I am a dancer and dance teacher so I am much more flexible than most people my age, trying to point out that I do have pain and deminished range of motion but my scale is different than most. He proceeded to use jazz hands and in a singsong voice say "oooh, I'm a dancer." He made me feel as if I was an idiot and wasting his time everytime I answered his questions. His nurse did not seem one bit surprised when I asked if I could see someone else, judging by his reviews I can see that I am not alone in my thinking.
