I agree with the patient who reviewed his/her experience with Dr. Johann Nel on Aug. 15.2019. He is abrupt and arrogant.

Staff at Skin First dermatology are wonderful.

As a senior, I find him the best doctor I have had in the past 50 years. He is professional and caring and personally calls you if he requires you to return to discuss your tests. He is your best advocate if you need results.

As a senior, I find Dr Nel to be a very poor communicator, abrupt and arrogant. Steer clear of him if at all possible.

Hes been our Dr since taking over Dr. Colgan and am very happy with him. He listens to what you have to say and have never had a problem with him. I like how he doesnt use pills as an answer and works to find the best solution to illnesses that work for you. He is awesome with kids and takes the time to get to know you and doesnt treat you like a #. He doesnt act like a know-it-all and genuinely cares for people like a Dr. should. Some of the staff are rude but the young blone is awesome and friendly. He is usually 5-10 mins behind most times, but I dont mind as he never rushes you out the door.

Dr Nel is very personable, always taking time to talk to me. Dr Nel has patience to help me through a very difficult time. He is professional and goes that extra mile getting me referred to a specialist or places that I feel are so important to me. Dr Nel is diligent in his follow-ups. The staff of Highland family practice are polite and helpful as required. I would highly recommend Dr Nel to anyone. We are very lucky to have him in the Comox Valley.
