Taking it from someone who has spent their entire lives studying medicine.
She is A Rude Quack who in my opinion is so incompetent and bereft of compassion that she should have lost her medical license years ago.

Started seeing her about 25 years ago when she was a caring doctor. Something happened over the next 2 years. While pregnant with what would have been our second child I began to bleed, called her and she said that's "not unusual". Then she was unavailable. 2 days later I called back, got to see another very nice dr in her office who had me rush over to St. B for an ultra sound. I was miscarrying. I told her I was unhappy with her dismissing me and she couldn't have cared less and got very snippy. Last time I ever saw her. Can't believe she's still in the biz.

I cannot really comment on Staff or Punctuality but to post this I have to put something in. I am commenting on the care my mother, who recently died, received. From the moment my mother came under McConnell's care, she was cowered, a bit intimidated and unhappy with her. For two years, my mother tried to tell McConnell that she had a hernia. But Dr. McConnell didn't spot it or acknowledge it because she never touched my mother after her initial physical 10 years before. She was abrupt and never seemed to listen to my mother when she tried to tell her something. Worse yet, 2 years ago my mother had a lump in her breast. McConnell didn't ask if anything was bothering her and didn't examine her. One week later, after her appointment, my mother went to a clinic which immediately sent her to a specialist who operated on her as soon as possible. By then, the cancer has metastasized into her lungs. Dr. McConnell did not give my mother the kind of care I would have liked and expected.

She was my dr for my whole life, yet kicked me off her patient list because I went to Grad School without letting her know. The staff is ignorant and rude, and she's not good enough to be that petty. I'm now going to walk-in clinics for my chronic disease.

I've been a patient of Dr. McConnell's for 23 years, and can relate to many of the good and the bad comments posted. She can be brusque, which sometimes makes me feel uncomfortable, but on 2 occasions where I have had serious medical issues I found her to be knowledge and compassionate, and willing to listen to my concerns. I feel confident in her referrals to a specialist if needed. My 22 year old son is completely comfortable with her as his primary physician. I don't have issues with her staff, but often have trouble getting through on the phone, and a visit to a walk-in clinic is often recommended for immediate concerns. I do wish she would get a replacement when she is away, as this no longer seems to be the case.

I see a lot of comments here about the staff, and I have to agree. Unfortunately, it's only gotten worse with the latest additions. However, if you *watch* while you're waiting (yes, seemingly forever sometimes) you'll also notice that none of the staff EVER get to just sit back and relax for 30 seconds. I wouldn't last a week in their jobs. So while the rudeness is aggravating, I'm prepared to (mostly) overlook it. As to having to wait forever in the waiting room: I've seen her schedule. What this means it that she's deliberately taking MORE time with a patient than was scheduled, to ensure some issue was addressed. Each patient is scheduled to take a maximum of 15 minutes - of course you feel rushed. And having been an RN before becoming an MD, she knows that all too often, patients are causing (or contributing) to their own problems... so if she's abrupt with you, chances are there's a good reason. I don't like "Tough Love" either, but that's what you get here.

I have been seeing Dr Mcconnell for 24 years and she is wonderful. The reception staff is horrible. They are rude and unhelpful.

Although she's very busy, I have never had a problem getting in to see her if I was really ill. She has been instrumental in referring me to several specialists for various conditions and seems to know which specialists will be able to accomodate new patients in a timely manner. She gets right to the reason for your visit but does take the time to listen and she is quick to determine what the medical condition is and what treatment needs to be provided. Unlike a lot of doctors, she is not quick to prescribe medications that are unnecessary. I feel very fortunate to have found Dr. McConnell.

HORRIBLE RECEPTION STAFF. They are rude and make you feel as though you should be honored to be seen by the doctor at all. I agree with other comments about how she doesn't seem to care about patient concerns. Although I've been seeing her for years, I am currently seeking a new doctor.
