Dr. Fukunaga has always been wonderful. She is caring and listens carefully to you. She is very thorough and I am pleased that she is my doctor. She also follows up to see how you are doing.

I call her Dr. Google....every time I have seen her, she "googles' my symptoms....are all the Doctors practicing this way now? I could have done that myself and saved a visit!

I didn’t have a family doctor after more than 10 years living in Nanaimo. I used to see Dr.Fukanaga frequently at Caledonia on Campbell st when it was still operating and one day I asked if her if she was take me as a patient. Her immediate response was yes of course. Every time I’ve had to call her with any problem she is incredible at listening and hearing my personal concerns, especially mental health. She is extremely pleasant always and takes her time to make sure she’s addressed all of your concerns. She’s even helped other family members with mental health concerns when asked, because you can tell she is a physician who generally cares. She also works with youth for mental health to make it more accessible which I think is amazing. If you ever have the pleasure of having her as your GP, consider yourself lucky.

Dr.Fukanaga is such a wonderful doctor . She is very patient , kind and willing to find out all the answers to your questions . She is so calm and patient with my autistic son and makes him feel so comfortable whenever he comes in . She takes the time to listen to my needs and I never feel rushed .
Would highly recommend her .

I finally experienced what some of the negative reviews said regarding rudeness. It was strange and I hope to never have it happen again, as otherwise my medical care has been fine.

Have seen Dr. Fukunaga multiple times for a recurring issue - even though I was originally in her clinic as a walk-in and am not on her patient list (there are no doctors accepting patients in Nanaimo) she always follows up with me regarding test results and schedules follow-ups in advance.
