Dr. Bates has been our family and members of our extended family physician since he came to Batesville. He has always been caring and compassionate as he dealt with critical illnesses of both of my parents. He is quick to send you to specialists out of town when he feels it is needed. As an example I had parathyroid disease so he sent me to a surgeon who did this surgery weekly not just occasionally.

My husband had a stomach disorder that caused him to loose 15 pounds in just a week. After he got the Meds in him where he could eat, our internal med doc here could not even scope him, Dr. Bates met me in the elevator and told me we were heading to Little Rock to find out the cause of this and within a few days we knew what was wrong and how to prevent future flare ups. We NEVER have to question the results of tests we know as soon as they hit his desk our phone will be ringing. When my mom was gravely ill he even gave us his personal number. I can not tell you how much we like this physician. It is nice not to have a physician try to rush you out of his office, "let me sit here and talk to you for a minute and tell me what is going on".

Dr Bates has been our family Dr for over 20 years. He is a great Dr. He calls you himself with test results at night and even on the weekend. He is the most caring Dr I know.

Dr Bates is the most compassionate and devoted MD I have ever had. I trust him with my life. He is always availabe when we need him and has given 100 percent to us and our care for 13 years

Mr Bates is very petty and thin skin when asked question about past experiences in hosp. and results of our stay. Mr Bates was asking my wife questions, she had 103 temp. When I tried to help her answer, he so much as told me to shut up, it was apparent that I had made him mad. This resulted in him refusing to be our Dr any longer. I t seems that if you don't question him in any way you will be fine. In all fairness the treatment and results of this stay in the hosp. turned out good.

He has been our dr since 1999. 3 years ago we had to move to Conway, but we still drive to bville to see him. It's hard to replace him so until we have to we won't!! We would rather buy the gas and drive to see him. If he don't know what is going on with u, he has no problem seeking more info from other docs or sending u to a specialist.

I have worked at the hospitsal with Dr Bates for many years and he is also my Dr and my whole familys Dr..He is such a good Dr and the best at White River Medical Center....

I felt when i was in the hospital that he didnt care or listen to anything i had to say. I would not use this doctor again after the care i had received from him

We have loved having Dr. Bates as our doctor for 12 years. We're leaving the area and have to find a new doctor -- only hope we can find one as caring and responsive as he has been.
