I have given 1 star, My mum saw Dr Routley in December, he prescribed her some tablets, saying if they don't work, come back in 1 month and I will change the meds... 2 weeks later, she was very unwell because of the meds.. called for an urgent appointment to see Dr Routley to be told, he had LEFT the practice and will only be coming in to collect his things!
Now she has to wait she has to wait till Feb to see Dr B?
I am disgusted to say the least!

I have found Dr Routley excellent. I am a very nervous patient and he has been very patient in both consults and post-colonoscopy and investigation of a pancreatic cyst. I'm quite surprised by the negative reviews! Not being a doctor of course I am not qualified to give a star rating re 'Knowledge' but he certainly scores 5 for the others and seems know what he is talking about.

I have been attending Dr Routley for three years and have found him to be excllent, always willing to listen and help, I have ulcerative Collitis, had to change meds nos of times, nothing is a problem for him, highly recommend.

I had issues for 20 years post cholesystectomy. I would have periods of 5days of vomiting and pain. Hundreds of trips to ED & nobody seemed to know what was wrong. Within 5minutes of being in in surgery he knew what was wrong. I have had 2 lots of bile duct stenting with him & my life is so much better. I developed pain post procedure & he just admitted me for pain relief until it passed. I am so glad I finally found him

Absolute waste of time and hard earned money seeing dr routley. Have seen him on 4 occasions to try and help with my gut problems since I was 15 and have never had any benefit. He actually sent me back to my gp and I haven’t heard from him since - would not recommend - go elsewhere. Waste of time and money. No wonder he’s got a shorter wait list than the other GE’s in Newcastle/Hunter area

my father had an endoscope done with Routley which revealed a tumour he then waited over 6 weeks for a referral to an oncologist despite daily phone calls. The last resort was to schedule an appt with him again to demand a referral and his response 'in the grand scheme of things 6 weeks isn't a long time' we were mortified by his etiquette. If I could have given 0 stars I would have.

What a horrible experience with Routley and his staff. I have now waited more than 5 weeks for him to arrange an "urgent" blood transfusion. Multiple follow up calls to no avail. Just received a message from his staff to say the surgery is shutting down immediately for the xmas break and to see my GP for some iron tablets. Routley seems to have forgotten that his diagnosis was that I cannot absorb iron effectively through my gut - thus his initial recommendation for a transfusion. I seriously question Routley's ability to deliver good quality care.
