I have been seeing Dr Scott as an inpatient on and off since December 2021. He has been treating me for PTSD, BPD and ADHD. I can honestly say his approach in combination with his registrars has been great. He is punctual and his visits are frequent. If you have an issue with medication He is not dismissive, you just need to show a willingness to work on yourself. If you can show this, then he is happy to work with you.

I've been treated by Dr Scott for about 8 months now, including in and out patient treatment. Yes, he is vision impaired, but he was the first doctor in 30 years to recognise my ADHD symptoms and that diagnosis has improved my quality of life in ways no other doctor has achieved; and that was in the first consult.

Yes, he's old school. He's honest, doesn't dance around things and some may call that lacking tact- he's actually just being direct. His staff are phenomenal at supporting his impairment, and I've never met more efficient or kind reception staff. His in Hospital registrars take noteson his behalf, and are incredibly thorough.

If you want someone to hold your hand and pity you, go elsewhere. If you want a psychiatrist with decades of experience and knowledge that will be honest and tell you what you need to hear instead of whatyou want to hear, see him.

Dr Scott is very much an advocate for a combined medication/psycotherapy/education style of treatment, and uses the facilities at the Melbourne. clinic to ensure his patients get comprehensive care.

Horrible psychiatrist. I saw him when I was 21 for an eating disorder, did not help me at all, infact made me worse. Put me on so many meds that I lost 15kg from no appetite. Was not helpful at all, clearly isn't passionate about his work.

Dr Scott never listened to me and made false accusations, failed to explain what I did wrong and immediately discharged me with no plan or other supports put in place

Cold. Heartless. Uninformative. Disrespectful.
Dr Scott was completely heartless. He didn’t listen to me when I explained that I starve myself of food he insisted that a medication that would suppress my appetite would help me even after I questioned it.
He probed and was inconsiderate to my emotions and I left feeling traumatised by the entire experience. He wrote me an indecipherable prescription to a terrible medication that made me 100 times worse than I was.
I also had to wait back in the office after my appointment (completely shattered) because he forgot to give me the persciption.
He wrote down some resources which I was unable to read making them useless. Garbage guy.

This dr is a disgrace. After calling me by the wrong name three times over 2 sessions, could not remember what he had prescribed to “help” me and left me feeling more alone than before I attempted seeking help from this man

This doctor lacks empathy and is very hot and cold in his approach and care. 20 minute consultations is all you get also, just enough time to prescribe medication without giving full info and send you on your way.

I saw Dr Scott as both an inpatient at The Melbourne Clinic and as an outpatient for about 8 months. He is a good doctor but has the worst eyesight and apparently is considered legally blind but doesn't even wear glasses. He never writes medical certificates or any correspondence for that reason. If that's an issue for you, don't see him. He seems to know a heck of a lot about mental illnesses but digs his heels in sometimes and treats you differently if there's an aspect of your personal life he disagrees with, for example I started smoking w**d again and as soon as I said I wasn't ready to quit he threw my biological treatment out the window as he thought my mood changes were due to my self-medicating (which they weren't as I've had mood issues since childhood). I just think a doctor should be compassionate to someone who has a dependency and assist rather than just tell them they are harming themselves and almost completely stop "bothering" to help them (that's what it felt like to me!!) because their choices weren't exactly what he thought was right. He costs a lot of money to see even with high level Private Health Insurance so read through all reviews before deciding to see him. :)

I saw him a long time ago for what I thought were just some life problems. I slowly was helped to realize that I had a mood disorder which was coloring my world. Medication helped to take the dark grey filter away, and. I'm grateful for that.
