second enemy in the world. When I was pregnant, my colleague recommended her.She gave me epidural when I was in no pain at all.I did tell her and also put it in my birth plan that unless I ask for epidural, dont give me.She violated everything that I told her.And she comes to the hospital and tells me that she has to do a c-section because she has patients waiting for her in her office. What the hell..She never cared about the patient and c-section means more money and less time for her.I was even crying and telling her not to do c-section because I didn't see any issues. No one was with me and my husband was on his way to the hospital.I had a reaction to the epidural and ended up in emergency c-section when I had not even tried the labor. whenever she would come to see in the hospital, she always mentioned that she is doing some c-section for another patient. I have never heard her saying that she did a normal delivery for a patient.

She is an exceptional doctor who is very knowledgeable and compassionate! I would never go to anyone else! The wait can be a bit much at times, however it is well worth it when you take into consideration the care that you receive!

Dr. Somers is one of the best doctors I have ever been to. She always makes me feel confortable and relaxed and very supportive of my ills. She is the best of the best.

Dr. Somers is an extraordinary doctor! I have known her for 22+ years and she has delivered all of my children! Yes, you do have to wait for a regular appointment, BUT if you NEED to see her, they will fit you in asap. Dr. Somers was the one that found nodules on my thyroid when no other doctor had ever even bothered to check. I was lucky and am now on medication for them. I had an abnormal mammography and on a Sunday, she was able to pull strings and get me in immediately to have it checked out. Once again, I was very lucky. I now live 2.5 hours from her office and I still make the journey back to see her once a year! She is well worth the wait. If I had to ask her ONE thing, it would be to please be more considerate of the time one is waiting in a paper gown in a cold office. I know that she spends quality time with EACH patient, but really, don't make us wait half dressed for her. OFFICE MANAGEMENT is KEY!! Dr somers is the best!!!

Dr. Somers is a very nice person and seems to be a knowledgable doctor but the wait time for appointments is beyond forgivable. Her staff is not nice, or helpful. When you call for an appintment they tell you they are scheduling for appointments 7 months out! I have been a patient -- and have been patient -- for many years but have had enough. This is purely bad office management and a total lack of respect for the patient; my time is valuable too.

#5 Excellent Rating. Patient of hers 20yrs+. Dr. Somers has diagnosed many non-ob-gyn conditions for me which my GP's have not seen or asked about. She's very intelligent -knows her specialty, kind, patient & truly interested in her patients overall well being. She'd move heaven & heck to take care of a patient. I've been in St. Barn overnight (3 nites,3X) as patient of hers & other surgeons & I know for a fact that she's even there on weekends (Sat&Sun) checking in on her patients.

I had been a patient for 21 years and it was hard to pull my records. Despite her knowledge and wonderful care, she cannot be relied upon in any way for keep appts. On my last visit, which was scheduled a year in advance after waiting more than 6 months the prior year, left me waiting 2 1/2 hours, just to have her leave the office. The staff rescheduled for the following week and I took the first appt. of the day. On that day, I again waited almost 3 hours for her to show up; all the while being told she was on her way. I sat in the freezing exam room in just my paper gown for over 45 mins...when they told me she still hadn't come in, I dressed and signed the release for my records. This has happened too many times in the last few years. She is a great doctor, but she has more patients than she can possibly handle and makes no apologies. If you want her, expect a very long wait.

horrendous!! I was 7 wks preg and started bleeding. I had no pain. She advised me to go to the hospital, or I could hemorrage. The radiologist found a heartbeat, but the bleeding continued. I scheduled an appt with her a couple of days later. She determined via sonogram in the office that there was no heartbeat, and she recommended I have a D&C. While I'm getting the D&C, my husband waited for me in the waiting room. When I begin to awaken from anesthesia, she tells me I have "quite a large fibroid" in my uterus (I had it before the preg, but it grew). I then go home (she never talked to my husband). That night I have huge cramps and discharge something I can only describe as "matter". The next morning I call the office and am told by the staff it was probably just blood. When I see the doc for the follow-up, I describe the "matter" again. She looks at me relieved and says she never performed the D&C because of the fibroid's size, and she was glad it came out. Very disappointing.

I have been a patient of Dr. Somers for over 15 years. She is competent, extremely knowledgable. Over the years, she has correctly diagnosed cysts, tumors, etc that one of her partners missed (no longer with her). She has also diagnosed nodules on my thyroid, which my primary care physician missed; a heart murmur, which he also missed. Both diagnosis led me to specialists for follow up testing. She has also helped me handle menopause with grace. She is truly a women's doctor.
