OMG she is by far the WORST MD I have ever seen. I actually stuck it out with her for a few years because she IS knowledgeable. BUT does that make it okay to be forced to wait months for a check up, if you happen to have to cancel (with notice). Talk about being punished! She is cold and arrogant and her staff is so rude! You should be prepared to wait for 2 hours to see her, once you arrive. She was rough and hurt while giving the exam and spoke very little. She is a doctor only in it for the money! She rushes people in and out! I have no idea how or why, except that she is intelligent, that she has the patients she does. Her patients complain in the waiting room EVERY time I am there. I stayed as long as I could and today, as much as I fear switching such a personal type of care, I WILL be seeking out another OBGYN! Unfortunately for Dr S, I value my time more than hers! Please do not waste your time! You can go on this site and find another doctor or get a great referral.

I have been going to Dr. Somers for 21+ years. Whwen I was looking for a new doctor I called three doctors because I wanted to talk to them first to see which one I would try. One never called me back, another was very annoyed that I would evern question her and Doctor Somers called me back at 7:00 on a Friday night and spoke with me for 20 minutes. She is the most caring doctor I have ever had. She has always taken her time with me and explained everything in terms that I could understand. She delivered my son and removed tumors from my ovaries. Before surgery she called me and my husband into the office and explained everything. The day of surgery she spoke to us before and spoke to us after. I only no one person personally who complained about her and that person complains about everything. I have never had a bad experience with her. I have had problems on the weekends and she always took time out to call me no matter what. I would never go to another doctor.

patient since 1990's. KNOWS her stuff. never had children,so when she ran late for my appt. I never belly-ached cause I knew she was at hosp doing an early morn delivery. She's at hosp every day (I know cause when I was a patient of another Dr. she was there on same floor-even on Sunday-to see her paients). Shes honest, direct, kind, empathetic. She can think faster than any other doctor I know & can diagnose problems other than her area, but will always send you to another specialist to confirm her suspicions. So when she's running late & you're waiting, be glad because someday it could be you in hosp bed and she's doing her rounds and then you'll WANT to see her & will be glad she's at hospital & not in office. Before her, I've had ob/gyn's actually call the office to have the "waiting" room re-schedule. I've never had that happen with Dr. S. She's a gem of a doctor which a great sense of medicine. So go and see some of the bad ones & I'd betcha you'll be back to Somers in no time

I have been a patient of hers for 15 years. YES you do have to wait for a long time in the waiting room AND exam room but she is worth it. As soon as she comes in the room I feel like Im her only patient. Yes, you have to book 6 months to a year in advance for check ups because she's a great doctor and has MANY patients. She delivered my 3 kids. She also did a hysterectomy for me. All went great. In fact when she ordered bloodwork for me, she is so thorough that the lab tech said "wow, someone is making sure you are ok" and pointed to a particular test and said "this test is rarely ordered" Turns out, that if that test wasnt performed I would have bled out on the table. I had some sort of blood condition that was easily managed in the OR with an injection. She saved me from such a complication! I have so much faith in her. I'd never switch doctors! I'll gladly wait my 2.5 hours for her. I just bring a good book.

I have been a patient of Dr. Somers for many years. I feel that she is really knowledgeable and a great doctor, but I'm sick of waiting 1 1/2 hours plus to see her for my regular checkups. The wait time is ridiculous and her office staff is unfriendly. I'll be looking for a new OB.

I started using Dr. Somers when I was 13 weeks pregnant and have had a wonderful experience. It is true that you often have to wait a while to see her, but what do you really expect at a Doctors office. She has always been very upfront and helpful. This is my 1st pregnancy and she has made me feel very comfortable. I hope she is able to deliver my baby when it is time.

OUCH!I was looking for a new gyno & tried Dr. Sommers. She gave me the worst most PAINFUL exam I have ever had. I needed to wear a maxi pad for 2 days after b/c I bled from the exam. Not to mention the anal exam was a surprise and that was a bit rough too. She was very abrupt & was in a hurry to get me out of the room. Her nurse came in 2 times during the exam to vent about another staff member & this is while I had my legs in the stirrups. That is caring for your patients! I would NOT recommend this doctor. Her office staff was not too accomodating or pleasant.

I have been seeing Dr. Somers since 1989. She delivered my 2 children. I trust her. She is very helpful and knowledgeable. She does get backed up and sometimes has to leave the office to deliver a baby. She's worth the wait and sometimes inconvenience.
